This is the most boring foregone conclusion GS semi since Venus played Clarissa Fernandez. Snooze.

Katya :banghead:

Katya neevr deserved to win anyway. And yes, I believe every match has to be played and Yanina doesn't start with 0% chance It's Wozniacki, no Serena on the other side :)

Huh?! There have been WAY more predictable semi-final match-ups than this one, though I agree yes, Caro is the favourite.

Of course Pushniacki is the favorite but the bookmakers have reserves.
Wickmayer win is at 3.50 compared to Clijsters win 3.1 now that is a moderate gap.

In other words it is unlikely that she will win but definitely possible !

There's no foregone conclusion , it's not like it's Serena playing Wickmayer.

Nah I don't think she'll win, Caroline had a relatively quick match and she'll be well rested. Wickmayer may crumble under the occassion!

Serena/Kim will easily beat who ever wins the top half semi-final though

^^ Wickmayer's QF match wasn't that long either. She should be well rested too.

well, Yanina has the physical ability to hit through the pusher, the only thing is will she be able to stay consistent? If she does, Pushniacki will be toast..

BELIEVE!! :hearts:

Sorry, that doesn't work against Caro. Oudin had to come up with sth better than BELIEVE shoes and BELIEVE t-shirts.

If she comes out in UE-mode she will lose. Which is very likely.

But there is a possibility she will play consistently like she did against Errani. She has a chance, but it's a small one.

I'm impressed by Wickmeyer. This girl has a faboulous serve and has a real chance against Wozniaki.

Wickmayer will kick Wozniacki in 3. They have the same game, but Wickmayer is more aggressive and hits a higher amount of winners, and she can also push well and hit low amount of both.

Yes I really think she can win. But in depends on her game. She don't have to make a lot of UE's. But it's also the first time Wozniacki is in the semi-final of a Grand Slam so maybe she is also nervous. And she's the favorit, not Yanina. Yanina has nothing to lose.

No. It would be bigger than any other upset so far if Caroline loses this one. :spit: But would be great for Yanina! :)

did anyone think wozniacki would beat kuznetsova? did anyone really think Oudin would beat Sharapova, Dementieva or Petrova? did anyone really think that shvedova would beat jankovic? (:sobbing:) this tournament is capable of anything.

The 2004 AO SFs were worse.

Yes. Every round we keep saying Wicky will lose, yet she somehow manages to win. It will be very hard, but if she can play consistent and agressive and Woz gets a bit nervous, why not?

I had picked Wozniacki over Kuznetsova, and Oudin over Petrova :p.

If she plays her best, yes.

If she plays her best, yes.

Her best is not good enough to beat an "in-form" Wozniacki, simple as that. No need to act as if Wickmayer has suddenly turned into a top-player.

Yanina isn't a good enough player to beat Wozniacki, she'll have to keep up too good a level!

Wozniacki is the sort of top-player we need!
