The match of Yanina was a quater final with nice rallys... But you had the feeling nobody is playing. They were just not reacting at any shot! The Americans want stars! Not tennis! Pity. The best public in the world is the english in wimbledon, they admire every point no matter who plays, and then the French!:tape:

Besides dumping on the Americans, what is the point of your thread.

The point is that it's pity to see a quater final of a grand slam without any interest from peaple in the stadium, they were eating their Hamburgers!!

So you were checking people to see if they are really paying attention?
Isn't that a bit too much?

You have to eat sometime... :p
But I don't get why your making such a big deal of it. Maybe they just didn't like the match..
Yanina did her best, but Bondarenko wasn't playing well at all.

If I had been in the crowd I wouldn't have been too engrossed in the match either-and its not like either player did much to try and get the crowd on their side anyway.
I can't wait to see the 2nd QF-the crowd are going to be going mental

US Open tennis-goers care about the ATP, not the WTA, with the exception of the Williams sisters, Sharapova and now Oudin.

:yeah:

The peeps that go to the Open only know the guys. The girls have to be famous.

There was no drama in that match. I can understand people's reaction.

I think the author of the thread, kaghat, may have some unresolved issues with the Americans. Period.

I don't understand this overreaction. It seem a personal affront that the hapless and know-nothing americans are not paying attention to his or her favorite player.

That's actually not true. But I can see why the crowd was quiet, I mean this could be a first round match on Court 6 and there'd be about three hundred people (if that) watching, so in a big stadium, just not many people are interested. I'm addicted to the Open, yet I didn't even bother to watch or check the result because I really didn't care .
