Her spokesperson explicitly said that Justine won't answer any questions regarding tennis or a possible comeback. She just came back from Cambodja for a Unicef-project. The pressconference will regard that only.

Believe me, if Justine will announce her comeback she definitely won't be doing it any time soon.

No way. That woman is not serious. First she says she is done with tennis, now she changes her mind again. The truth is she probably can't stand the fact that Clijsters has such a successful comeback. If it's true about that press conference I'm sure she wants to distract Kim before her semifinal by saying officially that she's coming back.

Kim already knows that Justine is gonna come back. A commentator has said he talked with Kim and Flipkens, and they both told it him. I think if there is a player who knows if Justine is going to back playing, it is Kim. They keep in contact each other.

Well I hope it won't and I'm sure Kim will just focus on her preparation for her SF. But I think it shows a complete lack of class by Justine that she can't wait till after the USO and she has to stick her oar in now when it's two other Belgians who are deservedly getting the credit and the attention and are in the USO SFs.

It's as if she resents that she's not got the attention they have.

yeah i have no idea why justine doing it tomorrow would somehow distract kim, it's not like she'd be thinking oh shoot justine is coming back next year, 5 months away, god i'm nervous already. anyways i don't understand why she would ned to give a press conference for unicef, usually a press conference means something big, my uess is justine has heard the commentators with the rumours swirlingand is finally saying something. i am a little shocked though, i always thought she was oe to make a decision and stick with it, however when you play a sport basically 24/7 it is extremely hardto just quit, i definitely understand she could miss competing, it's just a great adrenaline rush.

I don't know what you were reading in my post. Something in your wildest imagination? Because your answer bears no resemblance to anything I actually posted. Put your reading glasses on and polish them and try reading my post. Now try to find anywhere where did I say she was doing it to distract Kim?

What I did say was the timing showed a lack of class. Kim and Yanina are rightly getting attention as two Belgians who have made it to the USO SFs. They deserve the attention right now and Justine sure as hell doesn't. But it's as if she can't bear it that Kim and Yanina are in the limelight and not herself and wants to deflect the attention away from them and on to her.

Didn't Ree do trips like this? Was she embarrassing? If she wasn't why is Justine?

Seems to me like you are the one who should be embarrassed getting it wrong

Get a life, you dumb fool. Quoting all those posts. Got something to prove Reeree baby? :wavey:

Actually my reply was in line with your original post. Evidenced by the part I bolded above.

How is it classless? You seem to be in this deluded line of thought that just because Justine Henin is Beligian she's somehow trying to take away attention from Kim and Yanina. And I'm saying why would she? What has Justine announcing a press conference got to do with them? Justines got her own legacy, a bigger and greater legacy than Kim and Yanina. There's no need for her to have a hidden agenda with this press conference.

So therefore keep your patronising self to your self. I dont take that sort of crap.

Seems like this post says more about you than about Justine. Do you not feel embarrassed that it has nothing to do with a comeback, it's to do with UNICEF? Do you not feel like an idiot? :tape::help:

Seems like most of you on here either need reading lessons are need a shrink :help: 01-800 SHRINK <---- that should help you out

Again another poster who can't read what I posted. So where was there anything in my post that said it was goint to be about her comeback? Nowhere. It's you who can't read - not me. And the fact that you didn't read it shows more about you than me.

The timing of her great announcement - whatever it is about - shows a complete lack of class. It's for Kim and Yanina to be in the limelight right now with their great achievements making the USO SFs. Is she so obsessed with herself that she can't stand it when two Belgians other than herself are in the limelight that she has to come in with some press conference to deflect the limelight from them on to her.

This is already an epic. So Justine can't do a press conference about her humanitarian work with UNICEF because Kim is in the USO semi. Can't believe that some can post that with a straight face. I guess they expect her to hide in a hole or something.

Yes of course a Grand Slam semi is more important than humanitarian work. I cannot believe the insanity of some of these posts. Get a grip. Maybe Justine knows that because Yanina and Kim are doing so well that a TENNIS LEGEND like herself might draw a bit more attention in the press in Belgium right now because there is so much focus on the sport. That would be INTELLIGENT to use this moment to take about her humanitarian work. God forbid that Justine or anyone want to help people in need. If you cannot comprehend the importance of helping those in need then you are not a KIM CLIJSTERS fan at all. Kim would be ashamed of such fans! And I am quite sure that JUSTINE would be glad that you hate her since you are selfish for thinking that the US Open is more important than humanitarian aid.

It seems like you are nuancing the point made by those who are stating she is taking away the spotlight away from Kim.
Instead of taking away, she is taking advantage of ( or sharing) it.

This girl is full of shyt. Why didnt she just say that she wanted a break? She got scared that someone was going to pull a Soderling on her azz at the French so she quit. She started 08 getting her arse beat left and right and couldnt take the heat, just like she quit the AO 06 final while in the midst of getting her azz beat. No respect for quitters.

@all those who were like "WHAT A BITCH SHE WANTS TO STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT FROM KIM AND YANINA!!!!1111111" , Justine already gave her press conference and REFUSED to talk about tennis, except for congratulating her fellow Belgian, Clijsters and Wickmayer   and then , she was like " I won't say anything, I am here to talk about UNICEF" although journalists were keeping asking her about a comeback.

Sorry, she is not as self centred and arrogant as you thought :wavey:

:o at some of the responses. It is sad that some people cannot appreciate the return of one of the three greatest players so far this century without vitriol and hate - it says more about them than about her and shows they cannot be true tennis fans.

There was a very interesting article in l'Equipe yesterday entitled 'Le mystere Henin' which gives some good background:

1. Justine's press conference is about her trip to Cambodia for UNICEF - I would have thought that UNICEF organised the timing, not Justine. UNICEF have clearly been quite canny in organising it during a slam so THEY can get maximum publicity. Presumably it was already scheduled and it is sad, but if it wasn't for all the hype about comebacks, I don't think Justine's humanitarian work would get much coverage.

2. It is clear that Justine and her entourage have been getting besieged by the press over a comeback. The amazing success of Kim has only intensified this interest. Apparently everyone who works for her tennis centre, Club Justine N1, outside Brussels has been sworn to secrecy - all enquiries have to go to Elke Rodriguez who handles Justine's PR.

3. Rumours have intensified, not just because of Kim's success and the tired nature of the tour since Justine's departure, but also because Justine has announced that she will play in two exhibitions, one in Charleroi and one in Dubai and is training very hard for them. She has pulled out of a role in the play 'Stop crying, Penelope' which was due to be on in Brussels, to prepare for these events.

4. Yanina Wickmayer's dad Marc, who apparently correctly predicted Kim's comeback, has said that he has heard that Justine will make come back in Paris for her first comeback tournament. Presumably he means Open Gaz de France and not Roland Garros.

Watch this space, haterz!!

No way. That woman is not serious. First she says she is done with tennis, now she changes her mind again. The truth is she probably can't stand the fact that Clijsters has such a successful comeback. If it's true about that press conference I'm sure she wants to distract Kim before her semifinal by saying officially that she's coming back.
You're idiot. Yes she waits for Clijsters - we all knew about this conference week or two before us open

Even though she didn't talk about her tennis, it is clear that Justine was still being a bitch to Kim. As we all know, all things - yes, even tetanus vaccinations for children in developing countires - must take a backseat to the awesomeness that is Kim Clijsters and her USO semifinal run.

How dare these children deflect attention away from Kim! How dare they! UNICEF sucks.
