Unlike singles, the matchups for the Doubles Quarters are interesitng. Strong teams...
1. Black/Huber vs. 6. Llagostera Vives/Martinez Sanchez
3. Stosur/Stubbs vs. 8. Mattek-Sands/Petrova
11. Yan/Zheng vs. 4. Williams/Williams
10. Kirilenko/Vesina vs.13. Kleybanova/Makarova
All of these matches have the potential to be fun... On number 1 vs. 6... haven't they played each other like two other times in the past month?

Agree completely that the QF are strong especially the top half of the draw.

Nuriajo have won 20 of their 21 last matches played. They lost only against Black/Huber in 3 sets in Cincinatti final.

Time for revenge

I agree. It's a fantastic line-up, especially in the top half. :bounce:

A few H2H's and stats..

Black/Huber vs Llagostera-Vives/Martinez-Sanchez

Black/Huber lead 5-0

2008 Berlin Final - Black/Huber - 3-6 6-2 10-2
2008 French Open QF - Black/Huber 7-6 6-2
2009 Madrid QF - Black/Huber 6-4 6-4
2009 Wimbledon QF - Black/Huber 4-6 6-3 6-0
2009 Cincinnati Final - Black/Huber 6-3 0-6 10-2

In addition to being 0-5 vs their opponents, Nuria/Maria-Jose are also 0-4 in Slam QF's so they are really going up against the stats. However they are the most in form team right now with 5 finals in a row including 3 titles since Wimbledon, and a 12 match winning streak. So it's anybody's match.

Yan/Zheng vs Williams/Williams

Tied 1-1

2008 Australian Open QF - Yan/Zheng 3-6 6-4 6-2
2009 Wimbledon 3R - Williams/Williams 6-0 6-0

Yan/Zheng are into their 4th US Open QF but this is the only slam they haven't gone further.

Kleybanova/Makarova through safely earlier on today :) It's the first time I've watched them and Alisa/Katya gelled really well together :D

Can't wait for Black/Huber against the tricky Spaniards :bounce:
