Don't like this idea, if it was on Armstrong or Grandstand I'd have given Vania a fighting chance, but since it's on Ashe I honestly think she will tense up on the biggest tennis stage and lose easy first set and give some fight in the second.
But I understand it at the same time because the winner plays Serena and it will definitely be on Ashe, so they get comfortable with it and Vania earned it IMO with that win over Sam, but good luck to Vania:rocker2:

I`m surprised that the Dani-Vania match will be on Arthur Ashe tomorrow. Of course the only way Na and Makiri were going to play their match on AA if the USTA had made some sort of ad campaign to attract some of the people from Brighton Beach and Chinatown, who would be more likely to care about that match.

Have you ever been to the US Open. People get behind the Americans. On court cameras dont capture the shouts and encouragment.

Doesn't really matter where King loses, on Ashe or some other court.

I have faith in Vania :)

Wtf cares about Kirilenko and Na Li isn't well known here. Hantuchova is more well-known than the both of them combined and King being American will get everyone excited.

As if. I love Kirilenko but even the match on Grandstand is a surprise.

Hopefully this match is finished fast so Kim's match will be moved to Ashe.

I'm afraid this will be a 3 setter mate, i mean, it's Daniela Hantuchova we're talking about :p

Too true.

Plus, didn't Vania sing at the opening of the USO a few years ago? She is really well-liked in NY, and Dani is Dani.
I think it's a good choice for Ashe, and it Could be a very interesting match.

Oh...& best of luck to Makiri against Na!!
