Is there a precise stat for this? I was looking through some results, and noticed Julia Mayr only lost 9 games in 5 matches to win Innsbruk 10k this year, that's 1,8 games lost average per match.

Has anyone ever done any better?

RANKINGS:

NAME - TOURNAMENT - AVERAGE GAMES LOST PER MATCH

1) Julia Mayr - Innsbruk 2009 - 1.8
2) Alexandra Dulgheru - Bari 2009 - 2.2
3) Mary Pierce - Hilton Head 2009 - 2.4

Dulgheru in Bari lost 2.2 games per match (considering qualies, 2.8 considering only main draw)
Pierce 2.4 in Hilton Head 2000

Venus won 2001 Hamburg and 2005 Istanbul losing 12 games in 4 matches and won 2001 USO losing 36 games in 7 matches. Those are her best event and GS:p

Conchita Martínez won Hamburg in 1995 losing 7 games in 4 matches:

F + Hingis 61 60
SF + Maleeva 60 60
QF + Kandarr 61 60
2R + Zrubakova 61 64
1R Bye

Conchita made that year the best claycourt season in recent times, winning easily all tournaments she entered (Hilton Head, Amelia Island, Hamburg and Rome) before losing in 3 sets in RG semifinals against Steffi

Even her 4 next tournaments were great too: SF in Wimbledon, W in San Diego, W in Los Angeles, SF in USO...these results would have made her world #1 these days
