highly touted and were very good, except ana won some big titles, but will slip into obscurity in the next year. both were better off when nobody knew about them, and thats the way she'll end up. once she gets back from her break, she'll be below 50 in the rankings. she is a mental midget.

Ana has a slam, big difference. And Ana loves tennis, huge difference. She will come back.

Yeah, Ana is completly different to Vaidisova. Ana will be back.

The difference is Ana's 100% focus is tennis while Nicole is banging Radek every week.

Thankfully Ana is taking a break for hte moment

Is Ana being bothered by Radek Stepanek?

Nicole looks like she doesn't care about tennis, Ana looks like she cares too much. But if nothing changes, she may really end up like Nicole. Minus Radek probably.

Ana isn't totally focused on tennis anymore, she likes it more to watch her boyfriend playing golf instead of train her skills  If she continues with that she will end like Vaidisova and then it's her own fault.

Ana is no Vaidisova. Maybe Ana wont have the career many expected from her, maybe she will, but she cares too much to let that happen to her.

 So she isn't supposed to have a life outside of tennis? Why can other players can, but not Ana?

If yes does this mean Nicole will stop with this and replace Ana in the top 10? :sobbing:

I do not agree with all of her on-court antics but I miss the Ana of 07-08. She just needs to stop and breathe. She needs to realize that the champions who have played this game and are still playing have evolved their games overtime. Back to the drawing board. At this point she isn't going to qualify for the Championships. I say she takes a break, comes back to defend her title at Linz, then takes off and comes back fresh for the Aussie hardcourt season.

Not a chance. Ok Ana might never win a slam or be No 1 again (both of which Nicole never even came near btw!)
But she has the talent to be top 10 player, but she needs to relax a bit...she is hopeless on the mental side of her game and has to sort the whole coach thing out.

A sports psychologist is her 1st need, then a regular coach. The talent is there...but her 2009 has just wasted it. But judging by her presser yesterday and her diary on her site today...she finally seems to realise and admit she is in a mess that needs to be sorted.

Nicole is finished as a proper player...Ana will recover, but prob never to what she did in 2008 sadly :(

Of course she can have a life outside of tennis, but NOW it seems that she is maybe too young to deal with both tennis and her private life. Maybe other tennis players are more mature than her, and so they can have a life outside of tennis.

I think number 1 and grand slam title is better than some Mickey Mouse tournaments and a slam semi, so she“s the next no one, and she“s not losing in first round qualies... she will be back, next year hopefully...

nah, Ivanovic still wants to win, but put too much emotion on it. Vaidisova is totally the opposite.

I agree Ana needs a sports shrink.

But.......Nicole can always comeback if she chooses--she has to get her priorities straight, though. Ans she needs like 10 sports psychologists!

Never say never

I believe (even though she lost in the 1r of qualifications) that one day she will be back (top 30 at least).

Women like Ana and Nicole can have any man they want. But I agree, their taste are so much different.

Anyway, I believe both Ana and Nicole can be back. They still have the game, it's just whatever is going on in their head.

Ana is surrounded with people that will help her to come back. Obviously not many of these young girls are equipped to manage so much pressure therefore some need more time. By next season she will begin to improve.

The difference is Ana's 100% focus is tennis while Nicole is banging Radek every week.
Isn't Ana practicing putting on a 3 hole course with Austrailian golfer Adam Scott. Maybe she will turn into a golf groupie toruing the golf circuit.
At least Radek is a tennis player so Nicole's focus is more tennis than golf.
