Breathing life into young American tennis. It would be hard to be more impressed.

I'm sure she's wearing that big strap for our sympathy. She totally outplayed Elena and only saw the trainer 2 times in 3 hours. Where's your beef? Lena could have used her bathroom breaks if she wanted...

All props go the the little 17 year old who took out Elena Dementieva today...what a performance by Melanie Oudin she is the "fighter" we've all been looking for since Martina and Justine left..shame on Demi...but basically this firecracker outplayed her in every department.:worship:...she went for her shots and Demi didn't...Mom Vera was in the stands not looking too pleased but thats been Elena's problem in not capturing a slam:sad:....she is not aggressive enough...she almost won Wimbledon but couldn't close out the match against Serena...this little one will go down fighting for every point and that is sooooo refreshing to see in such a young player:hearts:. Congrats to Melanie many more to come I hope!:bounce:

she seems to be a good little actress as well.

Look, anybody in that situation (especially a new up and comer) could get overwhelmed, plus, she said she was getting stabbing pains in her leg. I just think that was a culmination of all the emotions going through her head at the time. The excitement, the pressure the HUGE stage she was on etc.

I'm sorry she beat your fave and I understand if you don't like her. Trust me, I've got my list, too. I just really doubt she was acting.

Anyway, Go Mel and Go Lena D (hoepfully Elena will win the AO!)

She lost to Hantuchova this year. Twice.
