Wahey!

She got a little nervy at parts, but it was generally a decent performance with some very good points. Bartoli played some stunning tennis throughout as well.

An all Belgian third round.
It's been a while since we had all Belgian matches.

Well done, Kim. I was a little worried after the first set, so many missed shots and Bartoli was playing well.
But that second and third set was very high quality. Kim really won it, it wasn't Marion playing badly.

Marion checked out mentally after messing up the start of the second set. Just a horrendous performance: 34 Errors and 10 Double faults. One of the worst I've seen from her. Disappointing. Well done Kim. Played much better in the end.

A tremendous crowd at Louis Armstrong Stadium was treated to a good match. Clijsters had a nice forehand in the 3rd set.Clijsters had 39 winnners to Bartoli's 13.

Viginia Wade continues her onslaught on Bartoli. Wade has hated Bartoli for years. Wade is such a hateful woman. It's sad they allow her on TV. Kim can beat anybody. Congratulations Kim!

Marion :bigcry:

Good start but then totally fell away. :( Always a difficult matchup but after the first set I thought she'd do better than 1 & 2. Disappointing to say the least.

Kim played some of the best of her comeback though, which was obviously needed to cause the upset, combined with Marion's errors of course. Again, so pleased she is back and hope she continues this, she's great for the WTA. :bounce:

Bartoli had 10 Df's.... Yikes.... although these days that is not that much in women's tennis which is a sad statement. Nevertheless, Marion racking up 39 errors to just 13 winners is pretty atrocious. Well done, Kim :D

I don't want to sound rude but it's not an upset, I think the upset would have been bartoli winning and kim had the same amount of errors as bartoli as well. so i mean it really just comes down to who's game is better, and i don't mean disrespect to marion with this it's just how it is.

I only saw the last 3 games but boy were they impressive - Kims movement and court awareness is really refreshing. She has good touch at the net and is clever with her shot making and doesn't go flat out crush the ball all the time which is good because you need a plan B when it's not working. I don't buy into the idea that oh no she's in the Williamses half so she won't make the final. She has the game and hunger to compete toe to toe with them both so time will tell. 1 match at a time Kim!

When I was watching Kim in tbe first set - it was awful. Her forehand kept breaking down and I couln't stand to watch. Came back later and saw she'd lost the 1st set but was playing back to her self in the 2nd.

WD Kimmie - I thought you were going to lose - but I'm so happy with her 2nd and 3rd set. and all those forehand winners.

belgian commentators were joking about all the excuses she had after the lost match against garbin at RG: the surface was too slow, the balls too hard, garbin's box too loud, ...

and i heared the guy commentating with virginia wade talking about the adams family because marion reminds him of that one girl. that's pretty harsh imo. you don't say stuff like that in a tv-show that's watched by a lot of people. sometimes i really feel for her
