Wozniacki is very passive today while Voskoboeva is ballbashing like there's no tomorrow.

Horrible match. :o

Such an uninspiring performance from wozniacki, like normal :o

Horrific match, i agree.

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:30 PM
45 Errors and 24 winners from Voskoboeva

Only 10 winners from Caro

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:30 PM
voskoboeva is just horrible :o
she made a dropshot that even didn't pass/touch the net :o..i think it just touched her service line

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:31 PM
Wozniacki is really good at what she does!

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:31 PM
Whenever i see Wozniacki play on TV i ask myself: this is a top10 player?

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:31 PM
Disgusting from Caro, this is coming from a stan!

It's a win, yes. But don't see her getting past the 3rd Round playing like that, she winning more matches, but her tennis is getting worse! She wasn't THIS passive before, at least she was looking to use her strongest shots more often. Disappointing, hopefully she was just a bit nervous as it was the first match at a slam.

Hope she can play better in her next match!

Corswandt made a point that Caro is a gauge to see just how bad the majority of the tour is playing at the moment, at the time is shrugged it off as a hate-filled comment, but he couldn't be more right. She is the perfect gauage, but this doesn't mean she's a BAD player, just the tennis she is producing isn't worthy of what she's achieving! I'm sure when she starts to lose, she'll make changes and she'll be better because of it, but right now, there isn't a GREAT deal of motivation to change what she's doing. She's ranked higher than most of the girls her age (all?) and won her 6th title of her career last week

Even as a Caro fan I'll admit that Caro "pushed" her way to that win , second set was a bit better but the first set was atrocious , she was hitting even less harder than Dushevina against Venus yesterday :tape: No power, aggression , angles, spin, variety at all.

Oh well , she often plays patchy in her 1st round matches so hopefully it'll improve aka at Wimby , from struggling against Date Krumm to totally dominating Kiri and Medina Garrigues and giving Lisicki a tough match , today I was bored out of my mind watching her. Well done though , she stuck it out.

Wozniacki looks like a clown in that dress:tape:

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:31 PM
It was all up to Voskoboeva...winner or an error!

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:31 PM
when jo 'i have 3 stock phrases and nothing else' durie points out that your tennis is as bland as your outfit, then you know you are a pusher. sorry even simon reed has picked up on how passive caro is now.

as for the other girl, ballbasher with no brain.

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:32 PM
Oh Galina, Galina. Could have been more competitive, too bad Galina was hitting a bunch of UEs :tape:
Congrats on winning Caro, keep going

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:32 PM
WD for getting through Caro but even though she got a bagel it wasn't convincing.

W/UE Stats
Caro 10/16
Voskoboeva 24/45 :help:

Watching Voskoboeva is like watching a time bomb waiting to explode

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:34 PM
Boring match but she's through, improve Caro! :p

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:38 PM
From what I saw, this was BAD. A lot half of Galya's winners came in the first couple of games.

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:39 PM
She's such a pusher :o

Caroline just stood back and played defense for both sets and let Voskoboeva beat hersef. Caroline was broken in 3 games in the first set, But Voskboeva made 29 unforced errors in the ist set.

It was 2-2 when Vosko blew a 40-15 lead in game 5 ,but came back to win the next game to make it 3-3.

It was obvious Vosko was trying to page out of the Martinz Sanchez vs Wozniacki with very different results. Martinez created 10 points off of drop shots in her win over Caroline, but Vosko was only 1-5 in the first set on drop shots. Vosko did have 11 forehand winners in the first set. She served one ball that bounced to the net.

Caroline needs to step up the offense, as she continues to play very deep behind the baseline. She will have to play better if she plays her doubles partner (Cirstea) in round 3.

It's official: Stella McCartney should NOT design tennis dresses. I love Caro (check sig lol) but she is no Kirilenko in the body dept. (and they never really looked so hot on Masha either) WTF WAS SHE WEARING?
Anyway, I didn't see most of the match, but I'm disappointed how passively, even for her, she played. C'mon Caro! :fiery:

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:41 PM
I'll ask again:

How are players like Bartoli, Wozniacki, Radwanska, et al who are completely ineffectual against top players, able to hand out so many bagels and breadsticks?

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:41 PM
Solid, steady as a rock for Caroline Wozzzzzzzzniacki.

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:42 PM
i fell asleep watching e match...

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:44 PM
Well done Caro:)

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:46 PM
Exciting tennis as always. :yeah:

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:48 PM
I'll ask again:

well its not a hard question, aga, marion and caro all hit a very steady ball, todays game is filled with brainless ballbashers, hence them running through sets where all 3 players average rallying shot is more than enough to draw errors from lower ranked players. couple this with them not throwing away a game of errors = bagels

kim clijsters was/is the queen at this, when at her best she would give out more bagels than serena as her rallying game is far too good for most players and she wont give away a game in crass UE. although kim did this to a much higher standard than any of the 3 mentioned and knew she had to up it against the other very top players.

I'll ask again:
The ULTIMATE difference between Radwanska, Bartoli and Wozniacki is that the first two hit flat shots(even if you still would eventually call it pushing) and Wozniacki uses moonballs. The rallies involving first two are rather more enjoyable as they are quicker and more dynamic.

radwanska n flat shots do not belong in the same sentence.
but still, she's so much more interesting with her dropshots n lob combination.
wozzz is just a moonball machine...:tape:

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:57 PM
Goatniacki really stepped it up just as I expected! :yeah: 10 winners?? That's major!! Keep it going, GOAT!

Sep 1st, 2009, 05:59 PM
Caro :)

Sep 1st, 2009, 06:02 PM
The match was trully horrible. :tape:
And I agree Kiri looked better in Stella outfits :p

Sep 1st, 2009, 06:04 PM
WD Caro. She got through even handling out (or gifted) a bagel when she wasn't playing well. And that's all that really matters in the end and especially in the 1st round.

Caro :yeah: Keep on winning :)

Well at least commentators are starting to realise how innocuous Wozniacki's game is. Such hesitation to do anything remotely daring, having to scramble for every other shot as a result. The only element that packs a punch is her serve. That's only relative to her game too.

Voskoboeva tried to do what every other top 50-100 player does against Wozniacki. Tried to out-hit her, but failed due to her poor shot selection and general impatience. Has a lovely, eloquent service motion though, and was at least trying to play more courageous tennis than the Dane.

Sep 1st, 2009, 06:46 PM
Galina's FH ins the first games was on fire  A shame she couldn't manage to keep that level...I guess that's why she's stuck at the bottom of top100.

Sep 1st, 2009, 07:02 PM
Caro... I think I prefer the regular Adidas, stella mccartney is kind of fluffy :haha:

Sep 1st, 2009, 07:05 PM
caro :yeah: :o :scared: :)

not convincing at all though

Sep 1st, 2009, 07:40 PM
45 UEs in 16 games, that's 3 per game :haha:

Sep 1st, 2009, 07:53 PM
Well whatever. She didn't need to do much more to win the match so it's smart for her to save her energy. Damn haters

Sep 1st, 2009, 08:12 PM
I watched 3 games of this match cos I find Wozniacki yummy

The level of tennis was :help:

Sep 1st, 2009, 08:22 PM
Caro  Well done for not making 60 errors

Caro just improve your serve during the tournament, please!!!

Sep 1st, 2009, 09:00 PM
Can Caro please switch back to her usual Addias outfits rather than the Stella McCartney ones? :(

Sep 1st, 2009, 09:02 PM
Man there are so many whiners

First round 6-4 6-0 win is a fair start

Caroline :yeah:

Sep 2nd, 2009, 01:16 AM
Galina has tons of talent she just needs to get her shit together. :weirdo:

Doesn't she realise that she's making ALL the winners and ALL the errors? Like keep theb all in play, for goodness sake. :spit:

Sep 2nd, 2009, 04:52 AM
I am not a fan of all this Wozniacki/Pusher bash but she was especially so passive and boring that I started to believe in all those negative comments.

She was pushing more and more,it was priceless that she was finding hard to deal with some of Galina's moonballs early on :spit:

Voskoboeva is creating new limits at mindless ballbashing though

Strange match all together.

Nicely done Caro, keep it up :D
