I'd say 50-50

Apparently it's been an issue since Wimbledon, but she's managed to play through Wimbledon and Stanford. I think she'll stick with it. If for nothing else, lack of match practice in recent weeks (Stanford was FOREVER ago!) means she needs all the matches she can get

See I was thinking the same thing. She knew she had an issue with the knee when she entered doubles at the USO, so I wonder how bad the knee was, especially since it wasn't taped when she started the match.

Q. At this point, based on what you felt so far in the match with whatever is bothering you, do you think you're going to play doubles, or is that up in the air?

VENUS WILLIAMS: I love doubles. I'm going to do my best to stay in, definitely. That hasn't even crossed my mind if I'm going to pull out yet. I don't know, it's like a commitment. When you enter, it's a commitment. It's been so long, so I would like to try to win that title, too.

She seems committed! Great to hear!

Venus will throw her all into both events at the USO. It is the events after the USO we should be worried about. For these two weeks, I am focused on the USO and so should Venus!

I want her to play but not if its going to hurt her chances of winning the title.

I'm no medical expert, but I would think that covering the whole court would hurt Venus' knee more than covering only half of it.

Anyway, if you love doubles, the Grandstand's the place to be Thursday: Williams/Williams and Bryan/Bryan are scheduled back-to-back. :woohoo:

You could be right, didn't thought of it in that way. More thinking of the extra times she will be playing on the knee.

Well Venus just sounded very doubtful about keeping with the doubles in her singles interview with Cahill and PMac

I love her but she is so damned stubborn. Richard knows his daughter very well. :banghead: :smash:
