Oh dear :o:o:o

All these foot faults too

:tape: foot fault to have 63 in the tb :o

Seriously Venus is the mentally weakest player in the top 10. Duchevina can't serve out the set 2 times and Venus still ends up losing it.

who is the Asian girl in Venu's box?

For a top player, she is so fragile. It doesn't show because she always has a serene expression, but she gets sooooooo tight.

After the last foot fault, she hit a DF with a 64 mph :tape:

THIS IS BS. it has to be the knee :( Where is the Venus that stood toe 2 toe with some of the games greats here in NYC to give us some spectacular matches. Bring her out there quickly....

Vee is slowly becoming Maria v 2.0 with these DFs.

Oh lord have mercy..............

What's the list now?

Yellow; hot pink; red; green at Roland Garros; white at the Australian Open (2004 v. Raymond)

I want Vee to rest. Screw her defences, get back for the YEC and take that again, then off season and hit hard at the AO - its well overdue!

I don't like mindless ball basher Venus. It's alarming to me.

Yellow would have to be the worst.

yeah she doesn't show it but she gets very tight and is mentally weak.
look at how she plays the big points 30-30, deuce, bp, etc she often times makes an error or DF.
it's frustrating cuz she used to be very mentally tough, perhaps one of the toughest players on tour.

My question is, didn't Venus win the U.S. Open 2000 in a yellow toned outfit (goldenrod)? Like the one in Uranium's picture?

Yes and that was the only slam she won not in white, and look since she has been horrendous in yellow, that slam cursed yellow.:o

what i hate about venus and its the reason i could never be a fan is because of nights like this. shes just hitting the ball hard for the sake of it, she doesn't really care where shes placing it as long as its hit hard. add in that these shots often miss the court let alone are hit somewhere constructive just makes her painful to watch.

i mean what is she thinking out there, is her tatic to just bully her opponent, wheres her plan B or adaption to the game thats obviously not working?

Never noticed that for the U.S. Open 2001, but yeah! That's totally true.

I doubt the top players expect to need their plan B in R1... Vera is playing a blinder and has Vee preety trapped out there, what else can Vee do? She tried attacking the net, that seemed to be the plan B but it doesnt bother Douchebagvena at all and shes just whipping great passing shots at the Queen. Its tragic :(

You cant give her all the credit. Vee is terrible right now.

no she lost all confidence in her ability to construct points and as a result tried to go for winners way to early in points. when push comes to shove (as petrova said last week) chakvetadze can revert back to rallying crosscourt forehands and extending points, as petrova said anna sucked her into long crosscourt baseline rallies after the 0-6 1st set.

Venus' mental strength on test here, I expect a very shaky game but we'll see what happens. maybe dushevina will out choke her.

but vera isn't playing that well, shes living off the 40 UE venus has hit. veras forehand is no where near as good as her backhand, job #1 to break down that side. 22 games and veras hit 16 winners, thats well less than 1 per game, vera isn't winning the games with great shots.

Two BIG thumbs up for the dress. It has a lot of great design elements.

What is she wearing for Doubles? Same or different?

That may be true, I didn't get to see the match.

Long story extremely short, you can't just accuse Venus of being the only one who can't come up with plan B:

Sharapova
Azarenka
Ivanovic
Vaidisova
Kanepi
Stosur in singles, not really too much.

I think Vera has handled Venus' game and the occasion amazingly. She looks like no stranger at all to this stage, though of course Venus with her injury has invited Vera into the match. Hoping Vee can serve for the set...
