View Full Version : Please help! DVR to DVD-R

Aug 31st, 2009, 04:17 AM
I have some things recorded on a DVR that I would like to put onto DVD-Rs. The problem is, I don't think my DVD player that is hooked up to the same TV that is connected to the DVR can record things. I tried to put a VHS tape into the VCR, and I pressed record in different tv/vcr modes as the DVR stuff was accessed (played), but nothing showed up on the VHS tape.

Does anyone know how to get DVR stuff "out of there" and put onto a DVD-R?

I would be extremely grateful if someone would reply soon, as I was bad and left quite a bit of stuff on the DVR leading up to the US Open, so now there isn't much space left!

Many thanks in advance.

First off what kind of DVR do you have? Is it one from your cable company, or is it one you purchased? Read the manual. You should have an option to record to dvds or to a vcr

When I looked at the manual, I didn't find any info about what I'm (still!) trying to do. Does ANYONE have experience putting stuff from a DVR onto a VHS tape? The DVD player hooked up to the DVR TV doesn't have recording capabilities, but the VCR (obviously) does.
Thanks very much in advance to anyone who can supply any info.
