Guys I'm starting to think that... I totally lost any expectations on Ana:sobbing: I still love her but I start to believe that her 1 year great run was actually her peak... what do you think?:sobbing:

No. But her GS win came too early. She wasn't ready for it.

She sort of reminds me of Kuznetsova, post USO 2004.

No.. it wasn't.

Ana played better than anyone in that tournament and won it fairly. It wasn't her peak either, as there were many posible improvements to be made. But I think her career got interrupted there. She left her mind there and never recovered.

I don't think it was. She made it to two GS finals before winning RG and was regarded as one of the most talented players in the game. You can't be a fluke if you make it to 3 slam finals by the age of 20 or do it 3 times in 5 slams which Ana did. But I fear Ana will never play in another one again. :sobbing:

And I just refuse to believe that she's passed her peak. She could have been the player of her generation.

No it wasn't a fluke, the tennis gods just punished her with injuries and Ana got lost in the process...

with fluke i don't mean that she didn't deserve it, but that she played above her normal level... maybe this is Ana's normal level? Like Hingis, Seles, Capriati teenagers can actually turn out much different from what they seemed to...

I don't know what to think, i can't think of someone not reaching her/his potential because of fears/emotional issues... maybe we were expecting too much from her, and she couldn't sustain to play above her level anymore... I don't know:o

Agreed :worship:
Just bc she is playing like shit right now doesn`t mean we are allowed to underestimate her success
I know you are depressed but this thread is too much
If her 3 GS finals and 1 GS titles were fluke what are those people who have one GS final ?

Oh.. this is not Ana's normal level.

Ana used to impose her game, no matter what. She then could miss or play bad tennis.. but she would always impose her game and trust her shots. 16 year old Ana would beat this Ana 6-2 6-1.

If she ws just playing like 2005/06 again.. then maybe.. but she has regressed.. she seems another player.. has completely lost her game. So I don't think it's a matter of playing above her level before, but of losing her own game. She doesn't have it with her anymore.

no it wasnŽt a fluke at all, since 2007 it was expected, she was going to win it.

and we were expecting much of her (I think everyone was) because she proved herself on-court, she proved she could do it, and I donŽt think weŽlll know exactly why she went downhill in such an ugly way.

unfortunately the history of a pretty startlet....repeats again, but with the big dirrefence that Ana won GS and was number one for a while.

and I completely agree with downtheline.....it all came too early for her.

yes i'm losing every faith on her and i'm becoming callous...:sobbing: why do I have to suffer expecting her to recover from this slump? Maybe this will be her career from now on... my previous favorites were also "losers"/underachievers: Lendl, Magda Maleeva, Novotna, Pierce, Seles. I would see Mary play out of her mind somewhere and then turn out crap the next match... when she became more consistent in 2005 i had already given up on her:sobbing: I thought Ana was different:sobbing:

Ok crazy rant over:p

But I wouldn't mind if Ana played like Pierce right now. Mary would play amazing one tournament and then horrible the next. Ana just plays horrible all the time.

yes but what did she do? she was never n.1, she won only 2 slams in the span of 10 years... she could have been much better... same with Ana, so much talent going to waste. But yes she's not the first and won't be the last:o

I can`t wait for the haters to come and express their opinion on how they knew Ana was a joke

I think we're now entering the stage in which everyone just feels bad for Ana. The haters had their fun a few months ago, but she's such an easy target now.
