Ok,surfing the Clijsters forum in the hunt of photos,I saw they have there what it looked like a funny game thread. It's a game of questions and answers.HOw does it work? Someone asks a question and then next person has to answer the question from the previous post and then ask another question and so on.Questions don't have to be Sveta related.

Ok,I'll start: What's the last thing you do before going to sleep?

licking a chruch I think

Q your best first of april joke

SKF's can pick the winner of these 2 stories:

1. A girl that I worked with was incredibly naive so I called her on April Fool's Day morning from work and told her the office building had been renovated overnight and we couldn't locate all of the furniture, could she please bring in a chair from her home  She did and she wasn't very happy when she arrived and found out she'd brought one in unnecessarily .

2. Same girl, one year later  She had taken her cat to be vaccinated by a vet a couple of weeks prior to April Fool's Day, anyways on AFD morning I arrived at work early and rang her at her house and said that the vet had called work and there had been a recall on the vaccination so could she please bring her cat back to the vet's for another vaccination. She turned up at the vet's with her cat and they denied ever calling her.

Anyway she resigned a couple of weeks later.......probably didn't like her job or something

Hmmm, my question: What's the best export from your country? It doesn't have to be an item, it could be a person etc

HybridTheory
Aug 17th, 2009, 08:30 AM

Aug 25th, 2009, 12:36 PM
Books and CD's, yes. Shopping in a foreign country with money not my own: yes-I have no way of knowing right then just how much money I'm spending . Shopping just to shop here at home: I despise it. I hate shopping for clothes and shoes . I have very hard to fit feet, and no sense of style. I just get in, find something that fits, buy a lot of it, and get out .

Name a book that you read in the past that has stayed with you, moved you even now.

gdot
Aug 25th, 2009, 11:09 PM
when i was a kid i had this book on the world, it was just called The World i think, and i could pretty much recite it all (i was a very geeky kid, i was like 4 at the time). now i still pull random facts from it and remember things from it. :o has helped me out in a couple of geography exams, remembering that book

your favourite movie quote?

optional question:
should i study sociology, politics or psychology next year?
i want to start a new subject to go with the ones im keeping, dont know what to pick.

Анна
Aug 25th, 2009, 11:59 PM
Gdot, are you me? I was the kid reading the encyclopedia in the corner, and all that information helped me years later in quizzes . I'm still a big nerd.

I'll answer fnuf's question too :): I've never skied, so if the only other option is the beach, then that's it. But, if I go to a beach, I like to go see the "real" country I'm in-the pyramids of Mexico, rather than just stay at a bland resort. Does that make sense?

I really prefer holidays where I can meet regular people in the country I'm visiting. I can see tourists and Americans at home :ras:.

A1: "Well, nobody's perfect!"-Some Like It Hot

OR if we can go PG-17 here: "I want to see you in the moonlight, with your head thrown back and your body on fire"- Petra,When Night Is Falling.
God, what I'd give for that said to me ;). *cough* I think I know who I'd like to say it to

A2: What about political science? I thought that might incorporate all of those fields.

Q: When was the last time you laughed until you cried?

gdot
Aug 26th, 2009, 12:14 AM
think im sort of leaning towards sociology  i re-enrol on thurs so got to decide by then. and also i love doing quizzes, my team always wins because im such a geek

anyway answer: it was last week. i was playing tennis with my best mate. firstly he was commenting on how bad we are and we have all these tennis in-jokes aswell. then my sister turned up (shes terrible at tennis, seriously) so we were laughing at her, then she was going on about something and she said to my mate 'how old do you think i am?' so he said 8/9 (shes 12! and we've been mates 16 years.) so she was really mad which was so funny and she stormed off but tripped a bit so we were singing macy gray 'i try' really loud 'i try to say goodbye and i choke, i try to walk away and i stumble' etc.

long winded story sorry, and sort of a 'had to be there' moment but was so funny.

What is the most annoying thing that someone could do to you? (I promise once you tell me I won't try whatever it is):p

Анна
Aug 26th, 2009, 03:07 AM
I hope this doesn't come off wrong, but you have great eyes, Stef :)

A. In person, the most annoying things are to walk out of the room while I'm still talking to you; to not look at me when I'm speaking to you; or to jump in with whatever you're going to say, as if you were just waiting for me to stop so you could talk.

Online, I don't know...you are not a spammer or flamer or a whiner, so you're good with me :).

Q: Most beautiful natural scene you've ever seen? (I know, lousy rhyme :ras:)

 Thanks Anna, but if you mean my avatar it's not me, it's Missy Higgins

I have seen many beautiful natural scenes, but one that sticks out in my mind would be the fireflies at a country setting near my home town. They look something like this but there's more of them and they are brighter:

Um my question, have you ever done anything crazy like paragliding, parachute jumping, white water rafting etc etc

fnuf7
Aug 26th, 2009, 12:39 PM
A: I've done sky-diving (tandem jump as it was my first jump so was attached to a professional guy who knew what he was doing thankfully!), bungy jump, white water rafting, scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, done a hike/climb up a glacier, a giant bungy-swing kind of thing that was off the side of a mountain. I love doing those kinds of slightly crazy things :D

Q: Where did you go for your first holiday in your life? (If you can remember it!)

Анна
Aug 26th, 2009, 12:44 PM
I took flying lessons towards my private pilot's license, flew across the Rockies from Denver to Las Vegas and back via the Grand Canyon, but ran out of money before finishing. I'd take it up in a snap. God, those were fun days.

I've also been gliding, WW canoeing, and rock climbing-but that last one's part of a geologist's job , so I don't call that "crazy". Maybe teaching the Electric Slide to 200 Chinese also counts? Whatever happened to that girl?:tape:

Q:What is something you have always wanted to try, and why?

Анна
Aug 26th, 2009, 12:49 PM
Oh, and to answer fnuf's question, I want to say Florida, as my dad was born there, had family there, and we went every spring. I have some really early memories from the beach way wayyyy before the Mouse House

what is your favourite reality tv show?

fnuf7
Aug 28th, 2009, 06:14 PM
A: I don't watch any reality shows but I did catch a few episodes of the singing one...is it the X-Factor? Had a rather annoying Irish boy on it that I didn't think could sing very well but everyone else seemed to love him  & Beyonce turned up to sing with another woman & it was all too much vocal acrobatics for my liking but it was quite entertaining in it's own way.

What's the best tennis match of 2009 for you?

fnuf7
Aug 29th, 2009, 08:02 PM
A: Men's or women's? Or both? If men's then I think I'd have to say Verdasco v Nadal at the AO, crazy shots throughout that match & it was such a long match, both played extremely well & it was sad for one of them to lose. I'd also mention Roger's RG win & Wimbledon win, not so much for the match themselves quality-wise but just for the emotional hit of them & how tense I was watching them. Women's I think Sveta's RG win (again more for emotional reasons rather than quality of match) or maybe Serena v Sveta at RG & Serena v Dementieva at Wimbledon.

Aquarius, with a cusp of Capricorn ;)

Do you like to decorate your place in a particular style? Or is it more random pieces? If you had megabucks, what style would you choose?

My 1st house that I've just rented out had an ecletic (mixed style) theme. My 2nd house has a beach theme.

Megabucks = I'd still choose ecletic, if I chose a theme (i.e. safari) I can guarantee I'd get sick of it and have to start afresh.

Do you believe that aliens actually create crop circles?

http://bluebirdsaresonatural.files.wordpress.com/2009/04/crop-circle.jpg

Анна
Oct 16th, 2009, 03:17 AM
No, but I don't believe aliens have arrived in UFO's either. If aliens on another planet were so advanced as to be able to come all the way here, they wouldn't be fooling around by stomping circles in farmer's crops, drawing pictures on the Nazca Plain, and the like. Someone that advanced would already know exactly who and where our leaders were, and would announce themselves. At least, that's my thinking if I was an alien .

That said, I don't know how those circles got there :tape:. Many are undoubtedly hoaxes.

My Saturdays are almost the same week after week. Im still studying and a national athlete at 14! I train in the morning from 530-730, rest until about 10 then have tuition from 11-1. I have church from 3-5 then train again in the night before studying a little. To answer your question, my favourite way is to have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ON A SATURDAY AND JUST REST FOR ONCE.

What tournaments have you been to and which is the best in your opinion?

Caralenko
Nov 19th, 2009, 08:24 AM
Sydney, Australian Open, Hopman Cup. The AO was the best because of the large crowds and I really enjoy seeing all the top players go there, rather than just the few at Sydney.

What tournament would you upgrade/downgrade from Premier Mandatory, if you could?

Bероника
Nov 19th, 2009, 09:08 AM
I would upgrade Moscow Kremlin Cup definitely to mandatory,Russia being the most powerful country in tennis, they deserve a mandatory more than China for exemple.

Why did you chose your username? there are some curious ones around here ;)

I use my Russianized name here , but on nearly every other site I'm guihong (pronounced gway-hong). It is Mandarin for "precious ruby", and was the Chinese name of one of my students who became a close friend. Her English name, Holly, is my daughter's name :).

How do you like to celebrate christmas?

Svetlana)))
Nov 20th, 2009, 08:02 AM
I like to celebrate Christmas by having a nice dinner with my close family. Everyone cooks something and brings it over to my place since my grandfather is the head of the family. We don't really get a lot of presents but the greatest gift to me is the time we all spent together, not some superficial toy.

Name 3 heartbreaking losses and 3 wins that had you beaming for days.

what is your goal for 2010??

Анна
Dec 31st, 2009, 04:03 AM
I have lots of goals, but I choose attending to my health and my own well-being as way out in front. I tend to put my needs at the end of the list and that has to change. Once I'm eating well, moving every day, and managing my depression and anxiety better, I think the rest will fall into place.

What song will always remind you of 2009?

Happy by Leona Lewis. I felt that in 2009, i really matured as a person and even though i have a long way to go, my relationship with the people i love and god has improved tremendously. I am happy about 2009.

Do you think your life is stressful at the moment? How do you cope with stress?

Анна
Dec 31st, 2009, 04:20 AM
I'm glad for you, Ferragamo (named for the shoes?) :). Sometimes the hardest step is to improve ourselves.

Yes, this year has been one big stress-ball, for a lot of reasons. It actually began at the end of 2008. That's what led to my decision to focus on my health in every area; I'm just worn out and exhausted, and not good for anyone. I handle stress by yoga, swimming (I envision my problems falling off of me like bricks to the bottom of the pool), meditation, and breathing exercises. I also try to take time, like right now, just to mess around and listen to music.

Did you do anything this year that you have never done before?

Dorien.
Dec 31st, 2009, 08:06 AM
Yes, i graduated and started working. (Ok i have no job anymore but :p)

Do you have kids already or do you want some?

Анна

Yes :). My daughter is 11, my older son is 9, and my younger son is 8. My youngest son has Downs' Syndrome and lives in a home for disabled children.

Do you have any brothers or sisters?

Svetlana)))

My heart goes out to you. Do not worry, I am Catholic and believe that God has a plan for all of us. He is perfect in the eyes' of God and his soul unblemished.

Yes I have 2 sisters and 1 brother. My brother is currently serving in the army, hes 18 this year. All of us are schooling still. I am only 14! You swim to destress but i think my stress comes from swimming! I am a national swimmer and it is really tiring for me to juggle my 11 sessions a week and school.

What is something you are looking forward to in 2010?

wow i have to say you seem proper mature for a 14 year old, i really respect that. and also i know that swimming is stressful i used to do it myself, but i wasnt as good as you i dont think. i used to train about 7 times a week and i wasnt the best at juggling that with school! i always thought that with swimming if you werent in the mood then going training would make you feel 1000times worse.

anyway to answer your question, i look forward to going to university this year, and hopefully getting in the one i want.

my question is; what is your new years resolution?

Bероника
Mar 19th, 2010, 04:11 PM
we can maybe resurrect this thread since there's no tennis going on.

To answer the last question,my new years resolution (well one of them) was to try to eat less and exercice more, and so far I'm not doing it at all :tape: :o

new question: what the best thing that has happened to you so far in 2010?

My daughter just had her tonsils out on Monday, so we're not going anywhere for Spring Break. She's recovering well, and I have to laugh; I think it took less time for the surgery than it took to get my oil changed .
I already did the most important thing, and that was to register for a test I have to take to get into grad school :help:. I decided to go for it; you never get anywhere in life if you don't. Actually, I'm taking two tests in April, one in June, and one in July. The program I want is a work-study,in which I'll be teaching high school science as well as studying :help:. But it's only 18 months, not four years.
Besides that, it's clean my apartment day, catch up on mail, and yes, surf here ;).

Have you ever met a celebrity (besides tennis players)? Is meeting famous people a huge deal, or "meh" (we're not talking Sveta encounters here ;)).

Entourage or House, since the first seasons.

Are you an avid tennis player, recreational tennis player, or don't play at all?

Hello and welcome :)

No, I don't play at all. I'm pretty laughable at most sports . In fact, not many of us actually play.

What is the worst tv show in your country??

You should take a look at some of the local productions on channel 5. Those are dreadful, classless, no plot, bad acting, indescribable.

What is one thing you want to change right now.

The best medecine for me against bad mood are my dogs.Whenever I feel in bad mood or stressed, playing a bit with them makes it all much better. Not sure if this will help you as I don't know if you have dogs.

Do you cry watching movies? If so,what was the last one that made you cry?

I'm very emotional :awww: The last 2 movies i cried: My Sister's Keeper and Changeling. I really loved Changeling so much.

How do you deal with people who are not really friendly with you?

Анна
Mar 21st, 2010, 12:54 PM
Hey, Vero: No, I don't have dogs although there are plenty around here. Children and cats serve the same purpose ;).

I'm a huge mushball :awww:. Old classics like Jezebel, Dark Victory, and Mildred Pierce, watch out. Does watching The Sound Of Music on TV a few weeks back count?

Ferragamo, I hope this doesn't sound patronizing. You're 14, and most of us at 14 probably thought that not being liked was the end of the world, and it sucks. From what I know of you, you're wise, caring and very interesting, so my advice is: I would treat others as you want to be treated even if they don't treat you that way back, and realize that what other people think of you really doesn't matter. At the end of the day, you have to be proud of you and the people who are your real friends will stick by you.

Take it from me who "came out" later on in life but had my suspicions at 14, and it did cost me friends. But you have to be yourself and love yourself first.

OK, ok, question: Who is your role model (not Sveta or a tennis player), and why? What qualities would you like to develop in yourself?

Svetlana)))
Apr 4th, 2010, 05:53 AM
My role model would be my dad. He was brought up in a poor family but studied his guts out and finally broke through. There was once instance after he graduated from medical school, all of his colleagues were carrying suitcases and dressed lavishly while he carried a simple plastic bag around. He wasn't materialistic at all and eventually he outshined all his colleagues and became the best surgeon in Singapore. I hope to be empathetic, helpful and considerate.

What is your view on designer bags? Worthy investment or waste of money? It is rampant in my country. Everyone is carrying Dior, LV, Gucci, Chanel, Prada, Burberry, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, Miu Miu, Aigner, Givenchy.......

Анна
Apr 5th, 2010, 02:29 AM
Complete waste of money that I don't have :p, but then I despise shopping and never buy just for a label. My own purse is a Wal-Mart (big discount store)

Do you believe there is life besides us in the universe? If so, do you think they would be friendly or warlike?
