DNA test proves John Edwards is the father of ex-mistress' child
August 14, 4:33 PM Liz Barrett - Celebrity News Examiner

Former U.S. Senator John Edwards is expected to admit that he is the father of former campaign worker Rielle Hunter's baby, according to Ralieigh, N.C., news station WRAL. This follows a report in the National Enquirer -- which broke the story about Edwards' extramarital affair more than a year ago -- that a secret DNA test proved his paternity.

Edwards adamantly denied the affair at first, but when the evidence became insurmountable, he confessed on "Nightline," though he continued to deny being the baby's father. One of his aides, Andrew Young, stepped up to the plate and claimed to be the father -- but he is now writing a book in which he states that Edwards is the father, according to WRAL.

But wait! There's more!

A federal grand jury is currently investigating allegations that Edwards illegally funneled campaign funds to Miss Hunter to keep quiet about the affair. Hush money. She testified for nine hours on August 6. She brought 18-month-old Frances with her. The Enquirer claims her testimony could send Edwards to jail.

Sources told WRAL that Edwards could make another public confession before the conclusion of the grand jury's criminal investigation. His attorney, Wade Smith, said on Friday that no statement is planned "at the moment."

I don't if she isn't a strong enough woman to leave him, then I have no sympathy for her.

I'm sure with her health situation the happiness of her kids are foremost on her mind. Under the circumstances I can understand why she hasn't left. Her children are probably going through enough worrying about whether her cancer will return and don't need the added burden of whether their mom and dad will separate or not.
