People who vote at the Miss France election don't understand that she's gonna represent the country at Miss Universe, Miss Europe and stuff and that a horse-looking girl like that has no chance of being in the top20..

I wish they would rename the whole thing to "Hottest Chick Around" and just cancel the whole question part. It would be less of a mockery for women. As if answering a silly and cliche question with two sentences makes one "smart" or "cultivated."
And lol @ the photoshopping for a beauty contest. Probably half of them are not nearly as good as they look in those photos, but this is what has to be done to sell the event.

Although she was a bit awkward when I saw her on the footy show a few weeks ago, but maybe she was just trying to be too funny for the segment or whatever. She's still pretty well spoken and just looks fantastic in whatever she does.
I hope she at least makes Top 5.

Miss Dominican Republic has that "It" and international quality that previous winners had (Amelia, Jennifer, Natalie and Dayana). She already looks *familiar*. It would be an upset if she doesn't win. Alternate pick is Miss France.

No, but at least it weeds out the complete retards.
I'm not even sure of this. Those girls spend weeks training for the silly old questions that keep coming back. But in any case, that's not their purported goal, and even if they were, they still wouldn't be anything more than a waste of time. These questions are supposed to be the "queenmaker" and the goal is to highligt character and "culture". All they really end up doing is packaging women as "pretty but can make up two sentences together", which is probably the old stereotypical view of what a cultured woman is (should be).

True -- India would usually carry the Asians in the 90s to the early 2000s, but lately Japan and Korea have picked up the pace.
I'm very disappointed Indonesia didn't make it. I really liked her. I usually prefer Asian contestants anyways but this year most of them were weak.

I was disappointed in her score. She was definitely more physically fit than about 12 of the girls. She deserved higher than an 8.

This sound is WHACK, She will never be a solo hit in the USA with this type of music.
You were doing so well until that ignorant comment.
That song has gotten her two performances on two of the biggest tv events of the summer.
The song was number one on the US dance charts.
The thing is DJs love to mix Kelly, Michelle, Solange, Latoya Luckett, and Beyonce.
There seems to be room for all of them in the dance world so I'm more than happy to welcome them.

There have been waaaaay worse performances than that by USA.

You can't really compare scores -- they are so relative. You have to compare placement positions.
I actually thought Rachel and Crystle should get higher scores because of the composure they maintained. That counts for something!
But, Kristen's score was too low again. The judges just don't like her. Maybe she should have done her hair in a bee-hive like Miss Kosovo!

Dominican Republic - I disagreed with her answer, but very well spoken and made valid points about mandatory HIV testing.
Australia - spoke how it's okay to show off beautiful bodies. Had confidence and firmness. Good job.
Puerto Rico - (Riyo Mori :bounce:) Typical inner beauty response -- been given since 1958. Still spoke well.
Venezuela - Very confident -- women have overcome obstacles and there is no difference/barriers between women and men. Weak answer, but she acted like she meant it.
Kosovo - Not confident at all - very nervous. Answer didn't respond to question, translator may have messed up which would be unfortunate.
