Michael. Aug 14th, 2009, 11:27 PM anna also has a winning record against nadia ? right ? gdot Aug 14th, 2009, 11:40 PM yeah shes 4-0 against nadia Michael. Aug 14th, 2009, 11:55 PM haha Daszmarelli Aug 15th, 2009, 12:34 AM but she has 0-4 against Masha, If I'm not be wrong. At least if she play against Maria, we'll have a lot pics :hearts: i'm sure that her match against Bammer will be in a small court. Michael. Aug 15th, 2009, 12:39 AM well , yeah  i like lots of pics ! Daszmarelli Aug 15th, 2009, 12:45 AM ^^ your avatar :bounce: Anna has 2-1 against Bammer, but Austrian beat Anna in their last match in LA, 2008. Michael. Aug 15th, 2009, 12:49 AM well , let's hope anna really brings it this tournament ! Pink Princess Aug 15th, 2009, 01:35 AM well , let's hope anna really brings it this tournament ! :clap2::clap2::clap2: Pink Princess Aug 15th, 2009, 01:35 AM Princess Anna Chakvy win!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2: Michael. Aug 15th, 2009, 11:21 AM go anna ! knock em dead ! not actually though .. i should stop . HowardH Aug 15th, 2009, 06:43 PM go anna ! knock em dead ! not actually though .. i should stop . Did you do that on purpose Stop-sign? Yeah, not a good draw, the second round will almost certainly be Masha, and Anna has never beaten her. :o Hopefully she can beat Sybille though. Sybille is just consistent, no more, she relies on her opponents self-destructing. I think Anna can win this first round. gdot Aug 15th, 2009, 07:12 PM anna can definitely win the first round bammer isnt anything special and she will be worn out from this week. as for the second, if its masha then anna is certainly due a win ;) and if its nadia, well anna owns her  goldenlox Aug 15th, 2009, 07:39 PM Vera, Maria and Nadia are all way off their best form. This is the easiest section of the draw, but I don't have confidence Anna will do well. Prob Vera-Maria, but both of them are way below their good tennis now Daszmarelli Aug 15th, 2009, 08:45 PM ^^^I agree. How is H2H against Vera? Michael. Aug 15th, 2009, 10:18 PM come on anna ! sammy01 Aug 15th, 2009, 10:50 PM im pretty confident she can beat bammer if she plays decent/well. if its maria 2nd round then ok maria isn't the player she was and anna will be the underdog. if anna wins her 1st round i'll be happy. right now i want anna to win at least 1 match a tournament. Pink Princess Aug 17th, 2009, 01:35 AM Princess Anna Chakvy win!!!:clap2::clap2::clap2: :clap2::clap2::clap2: :clap2::clap2::clap2: http://www.yesmeenah.com/smiles/smiles/47/hangs%20(1503).gifhttp://www.yesmeenah.com/smiles/smiles/47/hangs%20(1503).gifhttp://www.yesmeenah.com/smiles/smiles/47/hangs%20(1503).gif babsi Aug 17th, 2009, 01:43 AM Let's just say Anna isn't the most easy-going player at the tournament. Yesterday, during the practice she wasn't happy with something Schiavone was doing, although I couldn't figure out what. And I can't remember them even talking that much tbh. She wasn't happy today at all having to be sharing a court with 2 other players. She was a lot different 2 years ago even though she was sick. cosmoose Aug 17th, 2009, 03:09 AM Let's just say Anna isn't the most easy-going player at the tournament. She was a lot different 2 years ago even though she was sick. 3 players practicing on 1 court? Unless they were practicing doubles, I don't think anyone would be very happy with that arrangement. babsi Aug 17th, 2009, 11:16 AM She was practicing with Wozniak. And Mauresmo and Medina Garrigues were practicing on the other half. This has been quite common this tournament to share the court and I am sure at smaller venues it is more common. 2 years ago it probably wouldn't be a problem but now as things aren't going well then the small things become big problems. She just seems very different now and I think it will take a huge effort to get back to where she was and I am sure that her current coach won't help her achieve it. Daszmarelli Aug 17th, 2009, 11:47 AM Second match on court 3 today, after Cornet x Rezai. Go Anna! cosmoose Aug 17th, 2009, 05:42 PM She was practicing with Wozniak. I just expected tier 1 event to have plenty of practice courts for everyone. guess i was wrong. I guess by now, everyone knows of Anna's moodiness which is not helped by the fact that she is no longer top 20 player. But why do you say her coach won't help her get her game back? he is not well respected? gdot Aug 17th, 2009, 06:33 PM anna took the first set against bammer 63 :) HowardH Aug 17th, 2009, 06:34 PM Anna is in a great position, up a set and a break 6-3 4-3. I am not worried about whether her coach is known widely or anything like that, so long as he can help Anna play better, and I think the results say that he is helping. She may be moody in practice, but I am convinced she has turned the corner. HowardH Aug 17th, 2009, 06:37 PM Although she has just lost that break, oh well, her matches are always up and down. HowardH Aug 17th, 2009, 06:47 PM Into the third. So hard to predict Anna's matches. One thing is for sure, there will be breaks in this set. gdot Aug 17th, 2009, 06:48 PM go anna!! Michael. Aug 17th, 2009, 06:59 PM please do better this set anna !! HowardH Aug 17th, 2009, 07:04 PM It's not looking good for Anna now . Down 0-2, maybe 0-3 soon. HowardH Aug 17th, 2009, 07:18 PM She broke back :D. Serving to level the score at 3-3. HowardH Aug 17th, 2009, 07:19 PM I gotta go. Anna hope you win somehow! gdot Aug 17th, 2009, 07:28 PM match suspended with rain, bammer leading 42. come on anna! Daszmarelli Aug 17th, 2009, 07:36 PM C'mon Anna... I'm arrived at home just now. Please Anna fight after rain! cosmoose Aug 17th, 2009, 07:43 PM C'mon Anna... I'm arrived at home just now. Please Anna fight after rain! Its over. Anna lost the last 11 of 13 games. :help: Daszmarelli Aug 17th, 2009, 07:45 PM :bolt: Any news about rain? :rain: gdot Aug 17th, 2009, 07:48 PM anna lost 62 in 3rd. Michael. Aug 17th, 2009, 07:49 PM :o, anna  Daszmarelli Aug 17th, 2009, 07:54 PM :sobbing: I was so confident about this match, but again she lost a match after take the first set :help: C'mon Anna... Wintermute Aug 17th, 2009, 08:03 PM Shocking loss. :o GeorgianFan Aug 17th, 2009, 08:19 PM :o :o saul1333 Aug 17th, 2009, 09:20 PM :o Not even 1 match win? Tala Igasho Aug 17th, 2009, 09:32 PM Schorsch showed me this on MSN from some blog: canada blog: Later I saw a bit of Chakvetadze and Peer practicing. Both were hitting with a lot of power, but a lot of shots ended up going out. Anna’s coach wasn’t too happy, and they left right after the session ended. I went to the exit to see if Anna was signing autographs but a guy who was already waiting there told me that Anna was crying, so I didn’t bother chasing after her. Poor Chak, she wasn’t playing that bad, from what I saw, she was hitting better than Peer. Daszmarelli Aug 17th, 2009, 09:35 PM ^^ Illusyve said it on her/his thread on Toronto's thread Tala Igasho Aug 17th, 2009, 09:37 PM Oh OK, thanx :p Poor Anna :awww: DiscoStick Aug 17th, 2009, 09:39 PM Anna :o Over too soon Iggy Aug 17th, 2009, 11:59 PM Yikes. I didn't expect that collapse. She's still too mentally fragile. Setsuna. On the bad-side, she's gonna be playing qualies at bigger tournaments. Daszmarelli Aug 18th, 2009, 12:59 AM  a good USOPEN can save it Michael. Aug 18th, 2009, 01:00 AM  both my favorites in the seventies now , ai and chak. please get back in the top 30 !!!! HowardH Aug 18th, 2009, 07:08 AM Anna . Losing another match after leading a set and a break. But I think Anna is gradually playing better, Sybille is quite tough to beat these days, despite her lack of power. Naturally Masha will put her in her place though. Yes, Daszmarelli, if Anna has a little run at the USOpen that would be fantastic. babsi Aug 18th, 2009, 02:30 PM I watched all of the match apart from the last 2 games. Anna was playing well in the 1st set but you could tell how the mental game is really affecting her. I was just waiting for her to fall apart and it happened. There was actually 2 rain delays. The 1st was when she was up in the 2nd set but it lasted a few minutes and that was when she lost it. At the start of the 3rd set it was a horror show, the first point she tried a drop shot on a first serve and she was just hitting the balls out. Although I didn't agree you could hear the rumblings in the crowd that she was tanking. I misjudged the rain delay and got back when the match was over and saw her crying on the way back to the locker room. She so needs to work on her mental side, even though it has always been an issue even when she was winning, that for me is the big problem. Just too negative all the time. 2 players who improved it are Safina and Zvonareva and I think they saw a sports psychologist, I think Anna needs to do the same. That is one thing that we will never know though, not many players will admit to going to one. Play New Haven and US Open as she is there and it is a Grand Slam, then she should shutdown 2009. Take a month off, forget about tennis, relax on the beach, do nothing and then come back with a training plan in mind because she is not going to play through this slump. I actually think she should think about going back to Carlos Rodrigues and the academy again, if she let him take control of things then I feel things could be a lot better. That is one thing that we will never know though, not many players will admit to going to one. I may be imagining it but I'm sure Anna has mentioned in the past working with a sports psychologist. I agree though, she definitely needs to see one again. I actually think she should think about going back to Carlos Rodrigues and the academy again, if she let him take control of things then I feel things could be a lot better. The reason she didn't stay long at Rodrigues' academy was because she was led to believe he personally would be coaching her but it turned out that he couldn't spend the time with her. I don't think she has a problem with the way she plays, or at least that's not what she needs to concentrate on. It's someone who can help her on the mental side. She was comfortably beating Bammer until she self-destructed. Daszmarelli Aug 19th, 2009, 11:30 AM vote in Anna here http://www.tennisforum.com/showthread.php?t=387939&page=2 rucolo Aug 19th, 2009, 02:38 PM OMG, 1st round loss to Bammer, Anna.:o:sad: Another collapse.:tape: Horrible serve stats.:help: Yikes. Thanks for report, Babsi.:) Totally agree, Anna has to work with a mental coach! NOW!:shout: So embarrassing how Anna suddenly completely falls apart.:( Anna also has to work on her serve a lot! babsi Aug 19th, 2009, 04:14 PM Of course the mental side is the huge issue atm but the shot selection can be worked on. Her whole attitude is negative, in practice, on court etc etc. She practiced with Schiavone and I don't even remember them talking to each other. She is still friends with Vesnina? Vesnina may not be the best player in the world but she seems very upbeat and positive and I think that could rub off on Anna if they practiced. It really is a vicious circle and it will be hard to get out of unless she changes something. She really needs a break after the US Open. The score may have said she was comfortably beating Bammer but her attitude on court was telling a different thing. She was pumping her fist after good shots but you were just waiting for her to explode and that is what she did. I don't think she ever felt confident during the match. She is only 22 and has time but wasn't that what people were saying about Dokic when she started her fall? cosmoose Aug 19th, 2009, 07:18 PM ^^ thanks for your insight Babsi. What a sobering scene. You said she was different back in 2007, do you think her negative attitude is due to her slump or do you think she is still suffering from the armed robbery incident? Iggy Aug 19th, 2009, 10:43 PM ^^ thanks for your insight Babsi. What a sobering scene. You said she was different back in 2007, do you think her negative attitude is due to her slump or do you think she is still suffering from the armed robbery incident? You know what; I really think that robbery incident is still affecting her. I think it has a lot to do with fear. I'm watching her 2007 Hobart semi vs. Sania Mirza that was posted in the youtube/video section. She was broken in the first game, and she brushed it off and went on to win the match 6-4 6-1. And then there was the Fed Cup brew-ha-ha vs. Israel, when she took on the whole crowd. There's a confidence and bravado there that disappeared after the robbery. There have been spurts here and there, but now when she faces adversity, instead of taking it on like she used to, she seems to be afraid of it. Then the slumps happen, and the cycle continues. She needs help dealing with that fear. HowardH Aug 20th, 2009, 01:04 PM Stupid robbers :fiery:. Anna, I know you can do it. You can find your game. Iggy Aug 20th, 2009, 06:07 PM Whatever happened to those guys? Did they get caught? Convicted? | |
