Sandra and Patricia Mayr won the 25,000$ doubles event in Monteroni this week. For Sandra it was her 30th ITF doubles title (5th this year). It was her 6th doubles title since her comeback and the death of her twin sister Daniela. She is currently the nr.123 in doubles and is close to reach her career high of 95 in 2005.

Congrats Sandra on such a great comeback after the cancer :worship:

Wow, well done Sandra!

I don't keep up too much with ITF's so I didn't realise she had already won 6 titles since her sister's death and her own cancer? That's incredible. The fact that she's even playing is impressive enough.

I hope she keeps it up and surpasses her career-high ranking. :rocker2:

there was an interview today in Austrias biggest newpaper about Sandra K. and her US Open experience. She said that she saw there is still a huge gap between her level and the top players in doubles. She and Rezai didn´t have any chance against Sugiyama/Hantuchova but it was also difficult for her to play against Ai, as Sugiyama helped her and Daniella much during their illness.
She also said she is not sure about her future doubles partner (obviously it wont be Rezai) because her ranking is still too low (probably Uhlirova, Görges or Malek). Winning is not everything in her life anymore, she is happy that she has survived the illness and that there are other priorities in her life now. Some players congratulated her on her comeback at the WTA level, still some where surprised she was still alive :tape:

Rather awkwardly one would assume. But she has played some WTA tourneys recently.... Budapest and Prague at least,

31st ITF doubles title for Sandra...she and Vladka Uhlirova won the 100K in Biella! Biggest title of Sandra's career :)

She's also back inside the top 100 now...6th challenger title of the year for Sandra (in addition to 2 finalist showings at challengers and winning a 10K) and she has no points to defend for the rest of the year. Australia is a real possibility with a good showing this fall.
