well I like her, but I like Vika more, and right now Caro is the one player who can take away the number 8 seeding for the US Open.

We don't mind her as a player or person, we just get frustrated by her luck of getting favourable draws compared to Vika at just about every tournament. Even at the 3 slams she's had much kinder draws than Vika but has not gone as far in any of them. Her 2 title's she's won have been without having to face a top 15 player in either of them and she got to the Madrid premier mandatory final without even having to face a top 15 player too.

yep, I agree. Caro really seems to be lucky very often :shrug: but she's one of the players I am completely neutral about. She's just there but she has nothing that attracts me. So as long as Vika gets that no. 8 seeding I couldn't care less :p

Yeah, I took a 6 day break from tennis and went camping. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was, but I guess that's coz I went during the week of Palermo and Prague, and none of my top 50 faves played (Williams Sisters, Vika, Dementieva, Ivanovic, Cirstea, Mauresmo, Lisicki, Vesnina, and Szavay).

How long has Kim been getting ready for her comeback?

I think I read somewhere that she was starting to practice really hard after she was invited to do the opening match on the new Wimbledon court because she didn't want to embarass herself. Somtime in early spring, I think?!

Vika and Caro have quickly turned from the newcomer darlings in the Top 10 to Slumpniacki and Craparenka.

I want them both to get it together before the USO. But I want Vika to be #8.

To be fair though Vika's last 2 losses were matchups which would be extremely tough to win even if she was at her best, it's not like she lost to players she'd expect to be beating 9 times out of ten. It's a bit of justice that she's unlikely to lose the 8th seeded spot now after the fortune Wozniacki's had this season with draws and Vika the opposite.

I'll get a RIP Ivanovic avy if she does bad next week. I wanna give Kim some more time in my avy:p

She has really choked these last two matches though, which is very worrying.

I'd be more nervous if I were a Caro fan though. I just saw the Dementieva match... she was flat and didn't look to care. Very bad attitude.

I wouldn't call it a slump unless she loses against Peng who she should really beat and probably Kim too. She could end up going into the USO though only having played a handful of matches in 2 months which is why i'm hoping she plays doubles in Toronto in case she crashes out early to give her more court time.

I agree. Of course, he plays matches which are pretty boring to watch but name a player whose matches are always breathtaking...At least he can create points and a lot of his matches are entertaining imo.

Well to be honest I don't see much difference at all between Murray's on court demeanour and Vika's. They both rarely smile on court and come across as miserable, but it's because they both have that ultra competitive drive in them to be the best, contest absolutely everything and demand 100% perfection from themselves. It's that sort of ruthless streak they have in them which has gotten them both to where they are and without it they wouldn't have got there for sure.

yup it is amazing what the success of a single player can mean for a sport. Tennis would be nothing in Denmark without Caro. It still isn't big, but it is growing slowly. That's the reason I support Caro. I don't like her style of play, and I can find her annoying at times, but she is such a great spokesperson for tennis in Denmark - we couldn't have asked for anybody better to get to the public.
