we play outdoor tennis only 4-6 months each year so it is normal that our québécoises have a lot of problem to challenge the pro

Can somebody please explain to me why the f*ck you would rather play a 10K than a Tier III qualifying event?! I mean it's not as if Nancy is gonna win a round in a 10K. She had a reasonable shot to win a round w/the right draw and keep her ranking points from last year. She'll probably drop about 300 spots this week and go back to 10K qualies w/the same 60 60 or 60 61 results:rolleyes:

Nancy you may talented in a lot of things, but common sense is not your strong suit!

Oh great Jackie gets the two players in her section of this draw that could beat her, Grandin and Rodionova.

Oh well, go Jackie, and try to qualify!!! It's great to see her here.

brits are playing glagow 25k this week, partially because its very very cheap to enter (about £10)

the reason tehy dont come here is that it is VERY exepnsive. most girls from 300 below are not emmbers of WTA so have to pay for most things, and simply cannot afford to come to canda for one week, then return back to the Uk teh following.

as i mentioned earlier Helen Crook and a couple of others were meant to be coming out for Hawaii, Quebec and then Bali, but couldnt due for personal reasons.

Its all about money, and most players cannot afford to travel and pay to enter a WTA event

Ric, Nancy is a 41-year-old player ranked about 800, who generally plays 10k events and loses in the first round by the score of 6-0 6-0 -- even if she is playing lower ranked girls!
It is this dubious honour that has made her famous.
Her fans cheer for her even if she wins one game per match :)

While I'm not her fan, I admire her spirit of playing for the sake of playing, for the true enjoyment of tennis. I am interested in seeing how she performs. And also to see what age she will compete upto.

Because of her scorelines, she has been dubbed "bagel girl" along with few others like Keiko Tameishi of Japan who also loses 6-0 6-0 in round 1. However, Keiko surprised many by actually defeating a Brazilian girl by that very same score (obituaries were quickly written for that Brazilian). So you never know what can happen!
