Dementieva and Safina are fighting to the bitter end for headcase and double fault queen. They're lucky Sharapova won't have enough time to catch them in the double fault category.. this year anyway.
Dementieva should be able to finish as the Double Fault queen for 2009. Safina has been one and out lately.

Thanks for the hardwork doing the list, Yuran. ;)
But if you could, I think it's better to add the number of matches counted for the player in the list. You have Peskiric at 175, but she played more ITFs than WTAs all year so clearly, her list is a lot higher and she could be the bigger DF queen than Lena or others.

^^ Only counting double faults from 2 ITF tournaments in France ( Marseille and Cagnes Sur Mer ) we can add 52 more double faults to her already nice amount:lol:
Zec has played 29 wta matches so far this year, while Safina and Dementieva 70.
Cleary Puchkova would top that list if we counted itf matches as well.

I think aces and DF's from ITFs shouldnt be counted.

Quite an achievement... she wasn't even on the list at the beginning of August. :help: I think she'll be much better next year though, so long as she keeps that shoulder injury away.

well, he said that "Serena leads the season with 346 aces, followed by Petrova and Stosur. Her sister Venus is only fourth. Kuznetsova is on 9th place with 186 aces." Since I can't find anywhere other aces stats and in any other list Kuzy would be 8th I assume he took info from here
i was wathcing it on fromsport.com, commentator was bulgarian i guess ;)

Here there is another match stats from the WTA website http://www.sonyericssonwtatour.com/SEWTATour-Archive/Rankings_Stats/Match_Stats.pdf.That guy you heard might have used the WTA as a source because he also mentioned the 1st service points won.

Dementieva is the 2009 double fault queen. Safina probably read the stats and found a convenient excuse not to pursue the title. Sharapova fans can argue for a split Double Fault Queen title.
Now I get to finish up the Bagel and Breadstick index.

this is good stuff... dementieva's serve has always been shaky but kinda entertaining to watch.. sharapova really can't seem to be serving for over a year now.

I really can't believe those pics are in order. Flavia CAN'T have served more aces and Venus and Serena. The sisters played 7 matches in Wimbledon, they must have had an incredible amount of aces just there.

If that's the only difference then how come your listing has the players with more aces than theirs?
