Jarka in the US 09

Jarka has won her 1st Round qualies match in Stanford by a retirement after trailing 1-3 against Tomoko Yonemura. Not how she wanted to start a match I would imagine, but nevertheless a win is a win :)

She'll now face Chanelle Scheepers in the 2nd Round of qualies.

I know :sad: really poor loss from Jarka there. Guess she must of had a bad day then. Hopefully she can perform better in her next few events in the US.

Well Jarka hasn't been given the easiest draws in LA. She will face Sharapova in the 1st Round & if she were to get past that she would have Azarenka in the 2nd Round.

Jarka lost to Maria Sharapova 6-0 6-4 :sad:
Sharapova obviously is getting some form though because she beat Victoria Azarenka in the second round, quite comfortably in the end, 6-7 6-4 6-2

Hopefully Jarka gets a few more tournaments in before the US Open. She has a lot of points to defend after the US Open...

Jarka is in pretty average form getting wiped by Lepchenko 6-1 6-2.

She has drawn Shuai Peng in the US Open, and probably Razzano if she wins that. One match at a time though, I don't think Jarka is favourite in almost any WTA match she plays these days.

Pretty disappointing US circuit for Jarka.
She lost to Peng 6-2 6-3.

Hopefully she rests her injury for a while and plays some WTA/ITF events in Asia, maintaining her top 100 ranking for the Aussie summer
