yeah,but Nadia doesn't seem to be the same this season.I don't know if that illness at the beginning of the season and then the injury have made a huge impact in her confidence or what,but she's simply not the same :hug: I saw her practising in Madrid and she was enjoying there and seemed in good spirits,so I don't think it's a motivation problem as some players go through at some stages of their careeer.I wish I knew where do her current problems come from :sad:

:confused: Is Nadia still with her coach the pole Matias Polonski, the one that she has credited so much for her most recent successes? When I went to Stanford, and saw her there playing against Sharapova, she didn't call him, I don't know if he was there or not but she called a girl from the stands, and throughout the match Nadia seem clueless. I just went to her profile, and it says that she has no coach, so I wonder if he has parted ways with her. She is known for her instability with her coaches, I remember some years ago, when she thrashed another one of her many coaches, and fired him infront of the media before even advising him, it was so not classy of her, but she did it. I still think that she has so much potential but without proper direction she is like a chicken without a head. I wish she would think hard at the reason for her steady fall, and react before she goes down the rankings any further.

I was thinking that as well :o Played in the second round in Paris, would have played in the third round at Wimbledon, Stanford second round and LA third round, now first round in Toronto. I think dark forces are at work... Nadia isn't in the best form, so for her to be drawn regularly against Maria, who has a rather one-sided record against her is becoming unfunny. What's the likelihood Maria is going to make in 8-1 next week?
I'm predicting a second round meeting at the US Open ;)

I hope that she goes past this round, since she will not win any points so far...as she was defending 3rd at the USO, im a little worried as she will be next up in 4r against Sharapova, and if we analyze it, she really didn't win any matches against a true contender to get to the third round. Her ability to win against the major forces is what keeps her from winning a major. Come on Nadia, go all the way!

Nadia played an Ok match against Zheng...until Zheng broke her for 4-3. From there, Nadia hit a gear I certainly haven't seen in a long time. She lost only one point from 3-4 down to winning the first set 6-4. A little hiccup when she got broken at 2-0 in the second, but from there, went on cruise control again. She hit three aces in a row at 5-1. SUPERB! Relieved Sharapova's out, but Oudin may be more trouble than she's worth. Out on Ashe tomorrow. Nadia will have to fight Oudin, a partisan crowd, and herself if things get tough.

But on a lighter note...
I saw bits of her doubles win against Patty and Ana-Lena. It was so nice to see Nadia smiling and laughing on court. Wish she could bring that sort of cheerful energy on the singles court! :)

I hope nadia and sveta both win then I have a perfect qf to watch.
