She has a great chance to get well within the top 20 if she can have a good run from now until the end of the season. She only has 213 points to defend in that whole period. :)

Sorry for not seeing this sooner, as Diane said, she is really great, extremely approachable and polite.

During Eastbourne/Wimbledon I managed to get a photo of her, a photo with her and also some paper for a drawing autographed. I would go so far as to say she is one of the most genuine, sweetest players on the tour :wavey:

So in short, you should have no trouble ;)

I had the pleasure of watching Lisicki practice today.
She looked relaxed...maybe too much? practice was bit sloppy.

Watching other players practice, it occurred to me that maybe Sabine should get a real coach.
All the top players here have a coach and hitting partner. They get good consistent practice from them.

While Lisicki has her dad. He can't hit with her...he can barely feed her balls to her.
He was standing by the service line, feeding Sabine balls to hit...but more than half of his shots hit the net or were way long.
He had her doing some elementary drills that no other players bothered with.
I just got the sense that her practice time wasn't being used wisely.

Thanks for your report. You were so lucky to saw her:p:angel:.And about a possibly coach,I think if she is having great results with her father as coach,I donīt know why she should change it.With her father she should be like in home, familiar:lol:.Maybe one day she will get a coach. When she will be nearly top-ten,maybe the next year:p

I certainly appreciate the updates. I'm watching online at http://atdhe.net but the feed is from a stationary camera and their is no sound and no scoring graphics. Looks like Sabine just broke but its tough when their are no replays or commentary and the camera angle is so high above the baseline.

I think it's not to bad for her first tournament after 4 weeks rest.

That's what she says on her twitter account:

I lost 62 26 46. I didnīt play my best tennis yet but itīs my only first tournament on hardcourt. Iīll keep working hard esp on my serve!

but the scoreline is okay, and maybe she can improve the new few weeks
should be another career-high in the rankings, and now she has a really good shot for a top24 seeding at the open

Not a shame to lose against Jankovic, even when the Serb isnt in best shape!
But this was a pretty bad match, and Sabine wasted a big chance here!
Especially serve was weak, and her DF´s are getting more and more annoying, as she fought back in the 3rd set from *1-4 to 4-4*, she had 30-15 at *4-5, and then two DF´s in a row to MP JJ, really bad to serve like this in such situations, really annoying defeat, but at least 60 pts for her first round win, and probably at position 22 next week :)

One last story about Sabine from Stanford.

It was of course a very tough loss for her and she looked very mad and disappointed.

But unlike most losing players that quickly exit the court as soon as possible, Sabine smiled, waved, and acknolwedge the crowd. That nice gesture drew a nice warm applause from the crowd and many made new fans of her.

I just thought that was very nice to see. She is so mature for her age. :)
