Is there a special reason why you are learning it?

no, I just like languages.

I have two obligatory languages in university: English and German. The third is my choice (bijvak) - so I chose Dutch, and never regretted, I like it.

I took 2 years of Spanish, and I am very good at understanding while reading, but it's difficult for me to write and speak, while I have no practice.

This month I started Portuguese, as it has a lot in common with Spanish.

BTW, my major is languages and pedagogics.

The stuff I watch like biathlon and cross country skiing is fairly easy. In cross country you just have to be the fastest and ski on the right track, no shortcuts are allowed.. and well if it's a classic style competition, you can't use freestyle.

Well, in biathlon they ski in freestyle only, since it's the fastest. And besides skiing fast they have to shoot well. Depending on the distance they have 2 or 4 shootings: one laying (then the mark they have to hit is smaller) and one standing (if it's 4 shoots, its 2 laying and 2 standing). Each mark they miss, they have to ski a small extra lap (since it's time and energy consuming, it's better not to miss).. or well in long distance, they just add one extra minute to the time automatically.

Biathlon's fairly more interesting since on a good day basically anyone can win. But I actually like the relays:hearts:, be it biathlon or cross country, the team spirit makes some average athletes shine also:D

WhoAmI?
Feb 24th, 2010, 10:08 AM
Oh, I like figure skating also.. even I don't really make the difference between all those jumps and twists.. and sometimes I find it so unfair how one gets higher marks than the other because they looked about the same to me:shrug: but it's just beautiful to watch:inlove:

Anyone here following the World Cup? ;)

Greece lost 2-0 against South Korea :help:

So much is wrong with our team. Its a shame because we have good players but the coach is afraid to play young players, hates Ninis (our best hope for the future), we don't have a great goalie and he's in his 30s so this is his last World Cup, our coach thinks he can win games if he uses the same team as Euro 2004, and one of our defenders is Czech and doesn't really care about our NT and he could've stopped both goals but gave up on one of them (tried his best on the other) and he almost scored an own goal when he passed to the goalie and the goalie had to sprint back to make sure the ball didn't go into the goal :o

Oh, and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but three of our players got robbed in the hotel a few days ago and over 2,000 euros worth of watches, etc. was stolen :(

WhoAmI?
Jun 14th, 2010, 10:57 AM
The 2004 team? It's like 6 years from it, can't he realize that time does no favors? (Actually I thought Greece would beat South Korea, but I haven't been following football closely, so..)

Anyway, I've been watching a few games. Mexico vs their 1st opponent, and England vs USA. I've never seen a goal keeper drop the ball like that and it spinning to the goal from there. Must be one of the dumbest goals there is. But poor England's goalie (gosh, i can't even keep up with the names anymore:(), he looked so sad:hug: (for a good reason tho). I thought they'd change him for someone else, but didn't happen, tho I don't think he'll be playing in the next game. American's goalie however was outstanding, their defense was often late, so he really did grate or the score would of been all but 1-1.

I usually root for Argentina, England and Holland. I haven't seen Argentina and Holland play yet, but England disappointed me :(

#kArLoS#
Jun 14th, 2010, 02:10 PM
I kind of follow it,but I mainly interested in Spain,our country.We hadnīt played yet,as everyone knows :p
Yet I know every result, and I have to say that I kind of like Greece.I was happy when they won the Eurocup in 2004,so I didnīt like when I knew that they lost against South Korea.I donīt like SK(South Korea) because when the World Cup was played there and in Japan(ī02) they defeated us in a non fair way, with the help of the referees and so on.In fact,3goals for Spain didnīt count. That was a shame :weirdo:
I hope to see Holand doing well, they have an interesting way to play IMO.Also I donīt mind to see England,Germany or Italy in the final rounds, but I donīt like France and Argentina,Maradona is just pathetic

And Greece is the Wozniacki of football because Greece focuses more on defense than offense

We will always get 12 from Cyprus though :p. Luckilly Great Britain and Germany have many Greeks living there to vote for us :D. And this year Katerine Avgoustakis was going to sing but she got kicked out of the national final because her song was leaked onto the internet before the national final . She would've won all of Eurovision though . Here is her song:

I like some Spanish singers :). I'm currently studying Spanish so I understand some of it :). I liked Soraya in 2009 and also Spain's song in 2008 was very popular in Greece, but I wasn't crazy about it . Enrique Iglesias is really good too ;)

cool.I didnīt heard about Kalomira since that Eurovision though

Iīll listen to that song :)

In Spain Soraya is quite popular but it was a big fail. She blame TVE,the television company which was supposed to promote her,she wasnīt happy with their work..

However Iīm not into Spanish songs. There was a time, when I was much younger, and I liked it.But not anymore

Kalomoira was also very mad about ERT, Greek national TV about how they treated her during Eurovision ;)
She had to make an appearance at the 2009 Greek National Final since she was the Greek representative in 2008, but she didn't sing any new songs and stole songs from other singers
KjTZzN4V6fw

She also had to perform this as the Greek representative for 2008:

And this:

She performed at the Greek Independence day Parade in New York City in 2009. I was there

She has a new English song now:
jfxwCcbpSSY

She is Greek-American, from New York and she is very upset with the Greek media, etc. so I don't think she will sing any Greek songs anytime soon

She was so cute as a little girl though :awww:

How about the men in Toronto? I think Rafa will beat Roger in the final :p

Baghdatis is my favorite player and he lost 7-6 in the third in the first round against Chardy yesterday :sobbing:
The chair umpire was horrible and there was no challenge on grandstand and he got robbed multiple times and they showed the replays and it was ridiculous as the ball was clearly in everytime they called it out and out when they called it in . Everything went against Marcos :sobbing:. He was up 5-2 in the first set and lost that 7-5 so he should've won anyways
And he had a great draw. Slumping Verdasco in R2 and Marcos beat him in straight sets last week, slumping Davydenko in R3, and then a chance to finally beat Djokovic in the QF :(

Of couse Mogwli(Nadal) will win ,but I donīt think Roger will make the finals unless he decides to play like only he can.

I would say,Nadal d. Djokovic

Thatīs unfortunate, sorry .But he will bounce back and will make a great run in Cinci. After all,he has played already a final this summer, altough he lost :p

#kArLoS#
Aug 11th, 2010, 06:20 PM
Berdych :p

Lucie is so lucky

Aug 11th, 2010, 06:23 PM
Why do you think she is lucky?
Do you find Berdych attractive or you like him for his tennis? :p
Do you have an MTF account? :p

I think he is hot :p.But of course,I also like his tennis ;)

Yes,I used to post but that was so long ago.You know,I only follow ATP Tour from time to time, isnīt at all like the WTA,for me.

Do you like him and also,do you have an account on MTF?

I wouldn't call myself a fan of Berdych but I root for him from time to time. I only have a few faves on the ATP tour (Baghdatis, Isner, Djokovic, Roddick) so I root for some other players when they aren't playing against my faves (Berdych, Federer, Hanescu, Tipsarevic, Verdasco) but I wouldn't really call them my faves

I have an account but I don't post that much. I only have about 6,000 posts I think :p

And about Berdych, I think he is good looking too so I can see why you think so, but I only like women in that way so I like ATP players for their tennis :). WTA for tennis and/or looks :p

I've gone to the US Open a lot though, so that's the only ATP or WTA tournament that I've been to :p
And I went to the 100K Bronx ITF last year and I saw King, Coin, Barrois, Malek, etc. ;)
How about you? :p

#kArLoS#
Aug 11th, 2010, 06:41 PM
I like Coin :sobbing:.Do you have any autograph or photos with her?

I only went to Madrid this year,itīs combined,so itīs like you :p

But youīre so lucky because you have been in a GS tourny :p :ras:

Nothing from Coin, sorry :p
I have a few pics of her opponent Vania King
I am lucky to have a grand slam but you have ATP/WTA Madrid, ATP/WTA Barcelona, ATP Valencia, WTA Marbella, ... ;)
