As much as I like Caroline, I would like to see Maria win this match.

Kirilenko's best chance came on grass.
I just don't see Maria being able to hold it all together for 3 sets.

:spit: On grass!? Her worst surface against the girl who had just won Eastbourne. :haha: :haha:

:help: Yes, her best chance came on a surface where she had only won one match prior to this year. :crying2:

On Caro's worst and Maria's best surface it will be a close match ithink likely Caro wins 7-5, 6-4.

It will be difficult for Maria to beat the future #1 and GOAT but I wish her the best of luck.

This is Maria's best chance. Def not on grass her worst surface. That said she'll probably still find a way to lose but hopefully she can make more of a match from the start this time.

Maria is a high risk player and usually that kind of gamestyle is rewarded on grass.
And considering the way Caroline played against Date-Krumm, yes at the time her best chance was on grass.

The fact of the matter is that Caroline does everything pretty much better than Maria.
And sometimes it doesn't work out the way you think it should.
There are some player whose worse surface is a better matchup against another player's best surface.
Noone recalls that Jankovic beat Venus on her worse surface at Wimbledon a few years back?
Lindsay Davenport against Nadia Petrova at Amelia Island?
Sharapova against Patty Schynder at Roland Garros?

Since when was she a high risk player? The only part of her game that I can think of which would be rewarded on grass is her volleys.

I don't get why people say they have similar games, there are some similarities but there are many differences too.

Maria Kirilenko is definitely a high-risk player but she's a total mess in terms of accuracy so her risk-taking is precisely one of the things that plagues her results.
