Bastad R1: Caroline Wozniacki def. Sofia Arvidsson 6-1 6-3kman Jul 7th, 2009, 03:11 PM Finally a top seed who plays like one. wd caro come again sofia CloudAtlas Jul 7th, 2009, 03:14 PM Caroline was far from her best today , too many UE's from her but it was a good start nonetheless on red clay. Won the big points. Slutiana Jul 7th, 2009, 03:18 PM Finally a top seed who plays like one. wd caro come again sofia  InsideOut. Jul 7th, 2009, 03:24 PM Whoring up all these MMs  darkangel23 Jul 7th, 2009, 03:29 PM WD Caro :) Jorn Jul 7th, 2009, 03:50 PM Well done Caro! :) But Sofia did play well in the 2nd set. AcesHigh Jul 7th, 2009, 04:11 PM This should be another title for Caro and a boost for her confidence. The field is not that bad, but she should come through without too much difficulty. Temperenka Jul 7th, 2009, 04:14 PM Caro, please don't pass Vika by only playing MM's... ;) Just kidding. Good win over a tricky and dangerous opponent. :yeah: Derek. Jul 7th, 2009, 05:45 PM Well done, Caro. :yeah: Dodoboy. Jul 7th, 2009, 05:49 PM Find it hard to see her playing here, but totally understand it! 30km from Copenhagen, no? Well done, hope she can win :D jrm Jul 7th, 2009, 05:50 PM Finally a top seed who plays like one. wd caro :tape::tape::tape::tape::tape: or was this meant sarcastic  cause she played like shit against someone who isn't even top200 when it comes to clay :help: ¤CharlDa¤ Jul 7th, 2009, 05:53 PM Caro :) But Sofia  Aaric Jul 7th, 2009, 05:56 PM Caro was awful :o sammy01 Jul 7th, 2009, 05:57 PM this should be another title on a plate for caro. shes probably the best player at scheduling on the WTA. FLL Jul 7th, 2009, 08:07 PM this should be another title on a plate for caro. shes probably the best player at scheduling on the WTA. It's not good scheduling.. it's called playing every week  allrounder Jul 7th, 2009, 10:13 PM WD Caro, i'd be a bit worried if a top seed at an international event didn't play like one in the first round. kman Jul 8th, 2009, 12:39 AM Find it hard to see her playing here, but totally understand it! 30km from Copenhagen, no? Well done, hope she can win :D Plus she's probably still grateful that they gave her a wildcard when she was only 15 and pretty unknown. This is her way of paying them back. And then of course she's defending champion (even though it was hard surface last year lol). AtTheBottom Jul 8th, 2009, 02:36 AM Sofia  What is Caroline doing here?... She'll probably make another deep run and get some easy points I guess, well done for the win :) Roookie Jul 8th, 2009, 04:18 AM I thought Caro could only play one MM tournament in the second half of the year now that she's top 10. Don't tell me she picked this one :tape:...or I am missing something?. FormerlyKnownAs Jul 8th, 2009, 06:38 AM Sofia  What is Caroline doing here?... She'll probably make another deep run and get some easy points I guess, well done for the win :) I would guess she is playing here because of a combination, its the biggest in Scandinavia, its close to Danmark, her Danish sponsors, her Danish fans, TV2Sport DK is showing live all week and maybe some start money. Pops Maellard Jul 8th, 2009, 11:24 AM Sofia. :( Caro back to whoring up MM tournies I see. Even on red clay when the French Open is long gone. CloudAtlas Jul 8th, 2009, 01:30 PM I wish people would stop complaining about Caroline "whoring up" the smaller tournaments , what does it matter to non-fans? The rankings only count best of 16 so not all the points she gains are counted and I can't think of any other reason why people would moan about it so I wish people would just shut up and let her fans enjoy watching her play and get on with watching their own favourite whenever they're in a tournament. | |
