it's a little pointless but i was just curious as to which players are currently using protected rankings higher than 250? any help would be great, i'm sure there are aficionados here who can assist me :)

Sharapova has one but does not need to use it for Stanford or the US Open.

Perebiynis, Shaughnessy, Granville, Morigami, Osterloh are ones that come to mind.

if needed, Kata Srebotnik will probably use her SR #20 whenever she's back

Does Serena get one from Miami onwards? As far as I know ,you need to be absent from the tour for a minimum is 6 months to be eligible for a protected ranking.

Yes, she will be eligible next month.

serena wont need a protected ranking, even if she missed the cut off for a tournament when she comes back there is no way she wouldn't get a wild card into it.

plus protected rankings don't influence seeding, so there is no reason for a high profile player like her to need one.

Wouldn't matter. Her Wimbledon win guarantees her a ranking for every MD.

Serena is eligible for a VIP entry at any tournament she enters... or only applies for Ana?

Serena will use a PR, so the wild cards can go to players who need them, eg during the french another American could get one instead of her

I don't think there is any other player with a top 100 PR at the moment, maybe zheng, when was her last match?

Well, Serena is unlikely to come before April (according to the newest article) so she might miss the French too, thats why I was asking. I am sure she will get MDWCs if needed, but its nice to know if she is getting a protected ranking or not (even if she might not need it)

Ain't the FO in May??? anyway she'll still be in the top 100 since she has Wimbledon points  That should keep her at least in the top 30, therefore being able to enter every tournments

If she misses the French she will need PR cuz she would have points form only one tourney.
