Another Wimby has come and gone? What was your highlight on the ladies side?

No doubt the toughness of Serena to come back in her SF match, and to stay ahead in the final. Her SF put the biggest smile on my face during the whole fortnight. Reminds me of why she is so endearing.

1/The Dementieva/Serena match was awesome, with the MP saved by Serena at the net.
2/ the thrashing of Safina by Venus. Priceless

As much as I loved The Bump, nothing tops the Serena-Dementieva semifinal. It made me a bit sad and a bit mad, but it reminded me that I'm still passionate about the sport, at a time when I needed that strong reminder.

Easily the Serena-Elena SF, but the real answer would be found on MTF. Not for the first time, the women's tournament just pales in comparison, even though its latter stages were a bit better than most in the last couple of years.

The Serena/Elena SF - It was the first time in a long while a tennis match has had me on the edge of my seat

Me thinking Sharapova could beat apparent grass court GOATs.

Safina's crash and burn. Should not have happened. She needs a new coach. A head coach.

The fact that it was another all Williams final. Not that it was the best. A little anti-climatic after the Elena/Serena battle, but I knew I'd be happy one way or the other with the outcome. :)

The Serena-Elena match fo sho

Sad outcome, but very high quality, entertaining match.

Either the semi between Elena and Serena or the beautiful 1-6, 0-6 effort by Dinara Safina.

Others:
-The Oudin-Jankovic match.
-Any time Vika stepped on court. Those meltdowns are just icing.

Venus giving the world #1 a tennis lesson. How nice of Vee to let her have one game

The Great British Failure was also very inspiring :hearts:...

Safina getting embarrassed by the Williams sisters....
First Venus taking her to the woodshed on court
and then Serena in the interview room. :haha:
Wheres the option for Safina?

Even though my personal favorite after Serena/Elena was the bump by Caroline and Sabine. Also, the battle of Stella on Centre Court b/w Caroline, new model, and Maria K,current model.

For me, the highlight was the return of the "Old School" Wimbledon style of playing (low bounces, short points, BIG serving). I had forgotten it was a grass-court tournament.

:o at people incinuating that Roddick-Federer was the best thing about this Wimbledon

that match was a classic example of how a scoreline can lie...just because it is 16-14 in the last set, doesn't mean by any stretch of the imagination it was an "epic" match...

it was a choke-filled serve-dominated BORE-fest of a match, and to top it all it had an undeserving winner

but to answer the question, i liked JJ's "woman problems" excuse...although the SF was pretty good (best match of the tournament on both sides)

Wimbledon was a boring ace fest again after a brilliant 2008 version

Elena/Serena's semi was a true highlight. Drama, tension, quality, it was just a pleasure to watch.

Also Serena's win must be remembered. IMO, she played an almost identical match to '02. Some of her hitting was :worship:

You are not now, nor have you ever been, a real tennis fan.
