http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/06/22/perez-hilton-reportedly-assaulted-by-williams-manager/

After last night’s MuchMusic Awards (http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/06/22/nickelback-win-big-gaga-steals-the-show-at-muchmusic-awards/) in Toronto, gossip blogger Perez Hilton and Black Eyed Peas MC/producer Will.i.am allegedly had an altercation outside of an afterparty that resulted in Hilton being assaulted, the manager of the BEP being arrested and a very public battle of Tweets and video statements being transmitted for the entire world to see, the National Post reports (http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/theampersand/archive/2009/06/22/gossip-blogger-perez-hilton-alleges-assault-at-mmvas.aspx).

The dust-up began at the MuchMusic Awards’ dress rehearsal on Saturday night. According to Hilton’s video statement (http://perezhilton.com/2009-06-22-my-statement), Fergie approached him backstage and asked why he was always so mean to her (>Exhibit A (http://perezhilton.com/2009-06-11-rihanna-paints-the-town-fugly) and Exhibit B (http://perezhilton.com/2009-04-14-fugbury-egg-anyone), among many more). Hilton says he diffused the situation by complimenting “Boom Boom Pow” and Fergie’s solo LP, The Duchess. Perez admits that backstage at the ceremony the following day, he told the press he was elbowed by a member of the BEP entourage. Later last night at the afterparties, he says Fergie once against confronted him, however this time Will.i.am stood up for his bandmate. The two parties separated and then went to the Universal Music party being held at the Cobra nightclub.
At Cobra, Will.i.am once again got into an argument with Perez, this time with the two men getting in each other’s faces. When the situation escalated to its breaking point, Perez antagonized Will by calling him “gay” and a “******,” something Hilton admitted doing in his video statement (http://perezhilton.com/2009-06-22-my-statement) addressing the issue. Will.i.am also confirmed this in his own video statement on DipDive (http://dipdive.com/member/iamwill/tv/#/~/videoplayer/0/undefined/48856/~/): “This dude twists it and says I assaulted him when I was the one who came to him with respect and he was the one who called me a ‘******’ outside the club.”
Here’s where the stories blur: At roughly 3:45 a.m. EST, Hilton Twittered (http://twitter.com/perezhilton), “I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.” Hilton made several more pleas to his Twitter followers to call the police and send them to the Soho Metropolitan hotel, where both Hilton and the BEP were staying. (Interestingly, the hotel told the National Press they were receiving phone calls from as far as China and India after Perez’s Tweet at 3:45 a.m.) Will.i.am, on his own Twitter (http://twitter.com/perezhilton), simply said, “Perez Hilton is a liar…” In his video following the incident, Will.i.am told fans, “Instead of calling the police, you [Perez] Twitted that I assaulted you… sounds like somebody wants mad attention and is not really concerned with his health… I didn’t hit you. Shame on you, shame your behavior.” Somehow, even Tila Tequila’s Twitter (http://twitter.com/officialTila) became involved as a sideline reporter of sorts, with the MTV star Tweeting, “Unless Perez is drunk N someone knocked him out N he thinks it was a Will.I.Am look-a-like. But Will has no idea what Perez is talkin about.”

By night’s end, however, the details of the assault became clear, and it was Will’s manager Polo Molina, or Molina Liberio as he is named in the police report, who was arrested and charged with one count of assault. Molina is due in court August 5th to face the charge. Hilton himself, in this morning’s video statement, said it was Molina and not Will.i.am that punched him several times in the eye, with Hilton sporting a noticeable welt in the video. “Will.i.am is a coward and a disgusting human begin for lying,” Hilton said his video statement, adding that Will was a coward for not punching Hilton himself. In an effort to find the truth, and maybe call a truce, following the incident, Ryan Seacrest has invited both Hilton and Will.i.am onto his show to discuss the altercation.

LMFAO @ Perez. Isn't he the one that had a bitch fit when Miss California said she didn't believe in gay marriage? Then he has the nerve to try to insult someone by using offensive gay slurs? What a hypocrite. I'm glad he got his ass beat. He's the epitome of everything I despise about certain members of the gay community.

This was I think a year ago when he wore make-up to look like he was punched in the eye.

And a year later he got it for real. :haha:

Be careful what you wish for .........

He is stupid for using the offensive slurs that he did, I think that was very poor of him.

Though he has a right to say what he wants about people, and people like Fergie(who he is right about and is FUGLY) should be able to take it. He didn't like their Boom Boom Pow song and said that, and they get bitchy at him. Hell I hate that song, its one of the worst I have heard lately. So what, deal with it.

I do like their "I Gotta Feeling" song though. :D

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has asked Perez Hilton to apologize for slurs he hurled at Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas.

GLAAD was responding to a video posted by the celebrity blogger, whose legal name is Mario Lavandeira, in which Hilton gave his version of events after Will.i.am posted a video describing their recent confrontations at and after the MuchMusic Video Awards. Said Hilton in his video: "I made the split-second decision -- that I was gonna say what I thought was the worst possible thing that thug [Will.i.am] would ever want to hear" -- which was a handful of assorted F-bombs.

Rashad Robinson, GLAAD's senior director of media programs, said: "These are vulgar anti-gay slurs that feed a climate of hatred and intolerance toward our community. For someone in our own community to use it to attack another person by saying that it is, quote, ‘The worst possible thing that thug would ever want to hear,’ is incredibly dangerous. It legitimizes use of a slur that is often linked to violence against our community. And it sends a message that it is OK to attempt to dehumanize people by exploiting anti-gay attitudes.”

“We have reached out to Hilton and asked him to apologize for promoting this anti-gay slur, and we would ask media outlets to avoid repetition of the slur in their coverage of this story.”

Here is Perez's response

"I am saddened GLAAD chose to victimize me further by criticizing me for how I non-violently dealt with a very scary situation that, unfortunately, turned violent. While I doubt I will get an apology from GLAAD, nor do I expect one, I would just hope people know how difficult it is to intellectualize a situation and think rationally when a thug disguised as a musician is screaming at your face and intimidating you. I am just very fortunate and grateful that nothing more serious happened to me."

A new statement from Perez

From the heart:

"Words can hurt. I know that very well, from both sides of the fence. The other night in Toronto, after feeling physically threatened by a verbally abusive Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas, I chose the most hurtful word I know to hurl at him. I was in an out-of-the ordinary situaton and used a word that I would not utter under normal circumstances. My intention - however misguided it may have been - was to stand up for myself and tell this belligerent man that I had enough of his badgering and was not going to continue to let him berate and intimidate me. I wanted to hurt him with the word I chose, not anyone else. Unfortunately, the one who got hurt was me and, subsequently, a lot of other people. I wish none of it had happened. I can't take it back. I did what I thought was best at the moment to stand up for myself in a non-violent yet still assertive way. Clearly, I am not homophobic. Also, I am not nor have I ever claimed to be a spokesperson for the gay community. I am just speaking for myself, a gay man. One who is labeled "flamboyant" in the media. An American that is not granted equal rights under the law. I will continue to speak out for equality and I will continue to say things that upset both gay people and straight people. Who I am as a person and what I do for a living are two separate things. I've come to terms with all my incongruities and am proud of who I am and what I do. In closing, words can hurt. But words should not provoke someone to violence. Stripped away from the mask of Perez Hilton, I have been extremely bothered by the public reaction to my assault. Violence should never be condoned with such statements as "It's Karma" or "I don't believe in violence but….". In fact, several television and radio (http://perezhilton.com/2009-06-23-a-new-statement-from-perez-hilton#) shows over the past couple of days echoed the sentiment "He had it coming". Would they have said the same thing if I was a woman? Would I have "deserved it" if I had been stabbed? Or shot? Or killed? I was attacked from behind without warning and repeatedly punched in the head in a cold, disgusting and unnecessarily violent manner by Polo Molina, the road manager for the Black Eyed Peas, who I did not even speak with that evening. I did not share any words with him and his assault on me was completely unprovoked. I feel like everything happens for a reason and I leave this traumatic experience as person with more compassion. Specifically, there was an instance last year when actor Jesse Metcalfe was attacked outside of a Hollywood nightclub by a fellow entertainer. I did not condone the violence, but I did make light of that situation. I regret that. Sincerely. There are many ways to deal with disagreements, both good and bad, but violence is never the answer. Never. I now know that first-hand. It should not be condoned, promoted or accepted. No one "deserves" to be the victim of violence. No one "has it coming." NO ONE. And victims should not be ridiculed. I look forward to marching for equality in Washington, D.C. this October. And I look forward to standing up for my rights in a Toronto courtroom shortly, as I fully intend to seek every lawful remedy against the man that attacked me."

Rotflmfao!!!!!! This just gets more and more ridiculous. Total death at him playing the Homo Card. And I would have called Will.I.Am a ****** too.
My definition of ****** is different than others.
To me a ****** is anyone straight or gay who lives for bullshyt.
Perez was already confronted by Fergie and squashed the situation.
Why did he have to bring his point of view into the equation?

In fact, several television and radio shows over the past couple of days echoed the sentiment "He had it coming".

Although Perez probably deserves it, I'm kinda sick and tired of Will.i.am's goodie goodie attitude.

Sorry Fergie, you were a meth addict for a minute and although I thought your album was pretty good and you marketed it well, you still were a meth addict.

Thank god for that. Maybe someone can aim for his mouth next?

He pisses me off because he thinks he's God or something. He had the nerve to suggest to Mark Ronson to remove a featured artist from a song (which I cannot remember). If he thinks he knows all about songs and whatnot, why is he not Perez the music producer?

Another statement from Perez

I am sorry

"People make mistakes. I have made many in my life, but this past week I have made more than I can count on one hand.
I am sorry. And I mean it. No one is forcing me to write this. I am not feeling pressured to say this. I am speaking out because I realize that the last few days have been more hurtful to me - and many others - than the repeated blows I suffered to my head in Toronto this past weekend.
I have been filled with incredible sadness and regret.
I am sorry that any good work I have done for promoting equality may be tainted by me reclaiming a hurtful word - that's been personally used against me and the gay community - to hurt someone that was verbally attacking me. It was stupid.
Apologizing for me is not easy. Writing this was not easy. Life is not easy. But everything happens for a reason and I will take away a lot of valuable lessons from this experience.
Violence is never the answer. Never.
Victims should not be mocked.
The "F" word will never be uttered from my lips again. Just as others use the "N" word to insult and hurt - or as part of their everyday speech - I challenge them to remove it from their vocabulary as well.
Hindsight is always 20/20, they say. I should have been the bigger man and walked away from an unfortunate situation. Instead, I chose - in a very misguided way - to stand up for myself and only made things worse by how I - under pressure and diress - handled the situation.
I am sorry.
I am NOT apologizing to GLAAD. I could care less about them, my former employers.
I am apologizing to the gay community, to anyone who was hurt by my my choice of words, and to all the people who have ever emailed me to thank me for all that I have done to fight for gay rights over the last few years.
I have reached out to Isaiah Washington, someone I incorrectly labeled a homophobe in the past, despite his own public statements that he was not.
I will be donating any moneys collected from my lawsuit against Polo Molina, road manager for the Black Eyed Peas, to the Matthew Shepard Foundation (http://www.matthewshepard.org/).
And I will continue to speak out for equality and support the great work done by LGBT organizations, such as LAMBDA Legal (http://www.lambdalegal.org/) and HRC (http://www.hrc.org/).
Sincerely,
Perez"

Honestly I have paid little attention to Perez Hilton ever - in fact I only checked his website out recently because he's going to interview the Pet Shop Boys - but seriously, is he always this melodramatic ?

Seems to me this beat down is one of the best things to happen to him in terms of attention for him and his website.

yes he's always this dramatic. hes a huge drama queen and is really loving all this. his site was already very popular and has been around for a while, i wouldn't say this is the best thing that could happen to him in terms of his website. a lot of the comments on his website said "sorry you got beat up but you kind of deserved it" etc. i think with the whole situation, hes garnered a lot of bad press for himself and his unwillingness to admit that he had any wrong doing in the sitaution is just making it worse. :o

The comments on his site are sickening (thought I should know better than to read them). Even though he has backtracked and whatnot - the first few comment pages are always filled with.. "Yeah Perez, you're so right, insulting is good fun, get slapped for it should be a capital offence..." ... to ... "Yeah Perez, I have even more respect for you now that you apologise what a big man you are... " Are those people for real?

Perez had it coming, and he's lucky it wasn't worse. He's made some of the most hateful and unecessary comments. He told british presenters when asked what advice he had for Estelle (just new to the American music industry), to go get her teeth fixed. This on the day she was performing at HIS function. Girl must have been so hurt by that. She got braces soon after. *SMH* And she's one of the most down to earth people...

Honestly, Perez has some serious issues. He makes a living from sitting at a computer and making celebrities feel like sh*t, what a wonderful, wonderful man  He is vile and him criticizing others for the way they look is beyond a joke. Ever looked into a mirror Perez? Didn't think so. Words cannot explain how sick and twisted he really is, I remember when Heath Ledger died he said that he wished it had been Britney Spears instead. Honestly, what a complete waste of time and space.
