How funny would it be if this was taken literally and everyone who watches her match decides to leave halfway through?

She is soooo stupid. Ppl will NEVER stop talking and whining about her grunt, it is unbearable. The only way ppl will leave her alone is if she stops doing it, the sooner she does it the better it will be for her and her career and for our ears.

What a nice girl :weirdo: :o

She seems to have got it all backwards. It's our tournament. If enough people don't like her grunt to the point where the officials do something about it, she will be the one to leave.

She'll get her ass kicked soon enough and will maybe realized that the only thing she may have in common with Hingis is the bratty attitude (doubt it tho). The "I'm just a poor little girl, don't boo me please..." phase didn't last long lol

MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO: Nobody can tell me to stop grunting. Tennis is an individual sport, and I'm an individual player. If they have to fine me, go ahead, 'cause I'd rather get fined than lose a match because I had to stop grunting. That's all.

Unless the grunts will be officially denied be the rules of WTA or ITF nobody gives a shit whether it's yours tournament or it's someone's else.

I wonder if people will start to scream while they're running around the court and put it down to 'effort' or whatever... it takes effort to run.

Maybe scream as ur opponent is serving as 'it gets me focussed to hit my return'...

Maybe soon both players will just be shouting "ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" thoughout the whole match only taking moments out to take a quick breath.

She's a classic case of childish defiance and petulance. Someone doesn't like what you do, so you do it twice as much as you can't admit that what you're doing might be wrong - cutting off her nose to spite her face by basically telling tennis fans to fuck themselves. Nice going kid.

Although, if only Rezai has complained so far, the other players only have themselves to blame.

Q. To what degree do you feel you've been treated fairly or unfairly? What is your assessment since the celebrated event at the French?

MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO: Well, I think it's a bit unfair, because I don't think anybody's looked at the bigger picture. Nobody realized that I got three rounds of quallies, two rounds of main draw, got all the way to the third round of Roland Garros, you know, Grand Slam.

Nobody realized I beat No. 15 in the world, Jie Zheng, in the second round of Roland Garros at 16. You know, people haven't realized that. People haven't realized the sacrifices and everything I've done.

'Cause I haven't read one article where people say, She beat No. 15 in the world at Roland Garros on her way to the third round. Nobody realizes that, because the only thing they're really focusing on is my grunting.

So it's been a bit unfair.

(Exactly :worship:)

Q. As you progress further in the competition, the games are only going to get more intense. So do you think you might be losing control, you might get a bit louder as the games get more intense as you go on?

THE MODERATOR: I think we'll have to wait and see, won't we?

Q. Answer the question. ( Talk about pushing and being rude!)

MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO: Yeah, I think so. We'll just see. Definitely if the matches are going to be tougher obviously I'm going to start grunting.

I'm just here for myself. I'm not here really to be quiet for anybody. I'm here to play. I'm here to win. That's it. If people don't like my grunting, they can always leave.

Q. If you were told you have to stop grunting, how would you feel, by the authorities, the WTA or the ITF?

MICHELLE LARCHER DE BRITO: Nobody can tell me to stop grunting. Tennis is an individual sport, and I'm an individual player. If they have to fine me, go ahead, 'cause I'd rather get fined than lose a match because I had to stop grunting. That's all.

-----------------

Overall I found this interview very rude from the reporters and again they're focusing in the grunting instead of the tennis - PATHETIC.

It's her own fault if people are focusing more on her fake shrieks than on her results.

Has Sharapova's interview had any bit of a question remotely related to her grunting? Judging from the pictures she must have been quite loud. :wavey:

Poor girl...90% of her interview was about her grunting. She continues to display pretty bratty behavior I am not fond of. I like feisty but there's a time and place for it. Not now. She could easily evade the questions like the others are doing. But hey, at least she gets a lot of press.

I hope the WTA/ITF tells her to shut the fuck up.

Can't wait to see what she'd do if that was the case.

They've tried, Maria just doesn't give an answer. Maria doesn't allow herself to be sucked into the drama as she herself has said.
