Why is serena first on the center court ..its venus who won last year then she should have opened the women tournament .

Well Venus cant since the bottom half of the draw plays first which I prefer since the top half played first at the French.

I'm guessing you're overwhelmingly happy that the Great White Hope was put on the smaller show court :tape:

James Blake is playing the same time as Laura Robson so I won't get to see her play on TV :(

I would have prefered for Serena to be on centre for her second round match instead of this one (which is going to be nothing short of a beatdown). At least the match against Safarova may be a more competitive one. But I suppose I shouldn't be suprised - this is Wimbledon after all. They did the same a few years ago, having Molik/Serena on court 1 instead of centre and it turned out to be a pretty good match.

Duh. I'd rather watch it on the tele, though.

Is court 3 a tv court? what time does coverage start anyways? you prolly wont get to see her play cause they'll be showing Federer as soon as coverage starts...

Outer court play begins at 12pm local (7am EST) whereas Centre and Court 1 begin at 1pm.

The men's defending champion opens up play on Monday. The women's defending champion opens up play on Tuesday. Where the defending champions fall in their respective draw dictates which half plays on which day.

Because of Nadal's withdrawal, Federer replaces Nadal to open up the Centre Court play for the men. Since Venus is on the top half, the bottom half must play on Monday - the opening day.

Easy!

Court 3 is the old Court 2, so it's covered by TV. Coverage starts the same time as play starts, I assume (7 AM EST). That's how ESPN has always treated Wimbledon. Yeah, ESPN has its faults, but they have ALWAYS given Wimbledon the respect it deserves when it comes to TV coverage :worship: They'll show the first set of Blake; Federer will start play an hour later, at which time they'll start showing his match ;)

This may sound dumb but with the new court changes, which courts primarily hold the seeds or popular players aside from Centre Court, Court One, Court Two, Court Three and Court 18? I know in previous years, it was Court 13 as well.

I ask this because Vera is on Court 4 (along with Shahar) and Nadia is on Court 12 with no other seeds, but there's Court 7 which holds 4 seeded matches, along with Court 14 which has 3 seeded matches along with ALG and Mirza and Court 17 which has Cibulkova and MLDB along with Karlovic, who Wimbledon seeded higher.

During the first week, yes, unless there are two really, really, REALLY high-profile womens' matches that day. Or if CC gets done early, they'll move a women's match there.

Maria at the same time as Roger's match. I guess I won't be seeing Maria's match aside from the final games.
