Yes, her serve's a liability

1r Kudryavtseva - ?
2r Rezai - Could be a fight
3r Kleybanova. But I'd like to see a de-steroided Karantantcheva play an elite player
4r Cibulkova. Cause Wertheim said so
QF Bartoli. I'd rather Zvon, but .....
SF Serena
FR Venus

Dementieva is my 'insanity reigns' pick.

Only in my nightmares will Lena D win Wimbledon. Only there.

Your contribution to this forum is unmatched, Volcana. I wonder why someone I picture as an intelligent guy in real life posts so much crap here. If you could at least start only one thread if you really must comment on Dementieva's, Venus' and Safina's respective Wimbledon draws.

Yesterday, I had a dream about Elena getting into a final of Wimbledon. But I don't think this dream would ever become a reality.

U need a decent serve to win here, and elena has none. she'll go down in rd 1.

Elena D will play 1 match in Wimbledon 2009. And she'll lose that I regret.

If all you have to say is '?' about her first round, is it really worth looking past that?

Are you going to start a "draw" thread for every player?

I've never seen Kudryavtseva play. Plus she Am I supposed to pretend I have any kind of imformed comment?

Begs the question why the thread was started in the first place, if you admit to not having the required knowledge

Wow, people stop being so mean. :/

I said before if this was Elenas US Open draw id be down on my hands and knees praising god. But since this is Wimbledon anything could happen.

Not even when she beat Maria in R2 last year ??I don't even remember who beat Sharapova at Wimbledon last year. If that was Kudryavtseva, good for her, but no I certainly don't remember that match. And a 2nd Sharapova match against a player outside the top fifty with zero career wins isn't something I'd normally watch. Sharapova's an accomplished player, but I have no real interest in watching her play in and of itself.

You could have been curious to watch it afterward to see what happened .On the other hand, it probably would have make you fail to reach your daily quota of created threads so I can understand why you didn't watched it finally ;)

Volcana - Kudryavtseva is your typical Russian ballbasher with a strong backhand, disastrous forehand, and a nimble serve. Essentially, if Alla plays even a remotely smart match (not out of the question), Elena will be befuddled why her constant attack of the backhand isn't working and can't force any of the rallies to her weaker forehand, and then she'll ask herself why she can't attack the serve more, even if it's because she's overhitting them all into the net or beyond the baseline...

If this were any other surface I would not expect Dementieva to lose, or if her form were any better, but I must agree with the pundits who think she exits on the first day. Hopefully she does so she has time to work on her game and more importantly attitude, find that motivation again.

Maybe she and Jankovic go on that tropical paradise vacay together. :)

Elena always confounds the pundits, except when she doesn't. I admit I would find a first round exit less than surprising. But I wouldn't be all that surprised by a run to the quarters either.
