Hello, and welcome to the thread of my 3rd annual Wimbledon prediction thread.

2007: I predicted Bartoli, she made it to the finals.
2008: I picked a slumping Vaidisova who made it to the QF before running into Ivanovic-killer, Jie Zheng.

This year I am predicting Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland to win Wimbledon. :worship:

Watch it happen. :yeah:

She's going to turn heads. ;)

Yeah, Martinez Sanchez is probably a better pick for a surprising, deep run/random win. She loves that S&V, as Serena knows.

What makes you so sure Azarenka is ready to win a grand slam? You said in some thread you would have her up there with WS and Maria to win Wimbledon.

Why? Just curious, she's so young and just made her first GS QF. I'd like to know your reasoning.

In my mind, Serena and Venus are by far the clear favorites to win this title and Sharapova quite a distance back with the third best odds. Other than that, I think Victoria is really the one playing the best tennis minus those three... thus giving her a decent chance to make a deep run. I don't think she will win this slam, no. Venus or Serena will with no doubt in my mind. But I still think Vika is the one with the 4th best odds.

To be honest I wouldn't say Vaidisova was such a bold pick last year, had he chose Zheng then I would say he's really good at making prediction. But of course his Bartoli pick is indeed impressive.

Alizé Molik
Jun 20th, 2009, 08:56 AM
I don't think this one is really that good, Vaidisova has the ability to do anything she's just a head case, and the Marion one was good, but with a SF at birmingham and Eastbourne before, and playing a game ideal for the surface I think it was a pretty obvious (if not popular) choice for a dark horse.

Langers
Jun 20th, 2009, 09:05 AM
She's got a potentially very good draw, with Jankovic the possible 4th round opponent who will more than likely be gone by that stage. But I can't see her making anything more than Quarters. Not sure if that constitues a "winning" prediction...

gaja kesari
Jun 20th, 2009, 03:19 PM
Yes, what a good idea, let her win. Agnieszka needs a confidence boost right now
Just a couple of things:
Firstly, stay focused throughout, and don't let silly things (like people hitting you with balls or taking half an hour toilet breaks) faze you.
And secondly, beat Venus Williams when you get to play her.
The rest should be easy

To be honest your pick is not impressive at all unless Aga reaches at least SF (or wins of course :P).
