View Full Version : Kudryavtseva to beat Elena in the First Round...

I'm not PREDICTING it, but Alla K has been up against some big names at Wimbledon in the past few years and she has produced her best. Lena D is slumping lately and Alla will be confident. We'll see, but I won't be surprised if this is an upset.

It wouldnt surprise me since last year when Maria lost to her, I was like well at least it wasnt Elena losing to Alla. And right when I said it I had a bad feeling. One year later and they play first round.

It's hardly a bold prediction at this stage, unfortunately for Elena fans.

This thread isn't that bad, but as a fan of Lena's I don't appreciate your thread title at.all.

Talk about kicking a group of fans when they're already down. Pretty classless really.

You just made all chances of this happening disappear by creating this thread.

I don“t think so , Elena is losing against players who are on fire lately (Razzano , Stosur out of their minds , Mauresmo showing good tennis , etc) , not against mugs

If Kudryavtseva was fit and inform I too would consider this a dangerous match for Elena. But going on her results this year and the form she has shown on grass she appears to be neither of these things. Last week Alla retired from her match against Lourdes Dominguez-Lino after dropping the 1st set. Elena has nothing to worry about, at least in the 1st round.

If Elena will come into net like she used to she could win matches so much easier..

*hint hint

After watching Alla in Roland Garros, I can safely say that Elena will win this very routinely. 6-2 6-3 at the most.

On grass Lena could lose to just about anyone. She once lost to Kleinova :tape:

It wouldn't be a surprise result... but let's hope it doesn't happen :tape:

Eh. Nobody abuses Lena's fans more than our beloved Lena herself. I admit I passed the point of loyalty and crossed over into stubborn stupidity a long time ago.

Nah, i wouldn't be worried about Lena. Alla is hopeless ATM, she beat injuredpova last year, so what?.

NOT worried about Lena? You must be new. Google the phrase "first win over a top 10 player" or "first win over a top 10 player since" and see how often that phrase is followed by the name Elena Dementieva.

Yet she's still ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. And don't you forget it.

Your prerogative of course. Personally, I haven't chosen that response to her efforts (which I find calling "abuse" rather juvenile if I'm honest).

I don't know why you you would pop in here to defend someone that writes a mean-spirited thread title, but that's your choice as well. I just call them as I see them.

Alla beat Sharapova at W last year and was 2 points from beating Venus in 2007.
So she probably thinks she plays well on this surface.
Should be a close match

I don't see this happening at all. Elena will cruise through, it won't be close.

If she can beat Sharapova on grass with a ailing shoulder, she can definetly beat Dementieva in straight sets this year, since Elena can lose to pretty much everyone on the tour

Um okay :tape: I'm just saying I think this could be a major upset, I'm not trying to insult her fans.
