Why do people whip out this hypothetical scenario almost as if it's a clever argument? :rolleyes: Not that it matters but I think the argument was that Venus is the 2-time defending Champion in 2009 - as in 'this year', at *this* tournament as opposed to sometime last century. The point was about seeding players on the basis of recent performances on grass (as they do for the men) - as opposed to the overall number of Wimbledons a player has won. Anyway, the draw's out - it's done.

Back on track.,..Tammy sure likes the grass and this tournament, doesn't she? :) Congrats to her and good luck in the finals.

It would be great for the good grass-courters to have a real season and the chance to collect points, but since the surface is expensive to maintain, these players miss out. It's a real shame.

She's a very sympathetic girl, I like her :D. She smiled a lot oncourt too, whereas Dina was shouting.

Today Tammy was basically always in control of the rally, although her serve is not good enough to make it all the way at Wimbledon. This also showed today. Dinara was a bit erm, off. Mainly that was due to the fact that Tammy's grass play is hard to handle with those low bouncing balls and that forced her into making lots of UE's.

At some point winners just were all over the place. :) Not that much variety in the match, mostly it was a baseline battle with Tammy deciding what way the rally would go.

Just totally deserved and I hope she can take the title once more tomorrow. :kiss:

I was in the stands today!:hearts: Such a great day to go and watch tennis live!!!!!! :bounce: :worship: I enjoyed it so much.

Tanasugarn was playing amazingly well. First the crowd was like: oewh safina world no.1 she'll win this in 2 sets. (i knew it wasn't going to be like that) So we were talking in the box and tanasugarn started hitting so deep and so consistent safina just couldn't keep up. She was whacking that ball from left to right effortless.

About safina. I saw her in practice this morning and she wasn't hitting it well and was disappointed with herself. You could see that later in the match as well. (her coach wasn't there as well)

Safina's serve didn't held up well, and she was NOT hitting returns well. That made the difference in this match. Somehow she could do nothing with tanasugarn's 120km serves... She just brought it back to neutral.

Also, dinara was swearing in russian so much and pumping herself up And tammy was just making crazy gestures when she missed a shot, she even looked at my box and stuck her tung out pointing a finger at her head(like: crazy) :lol:

All in all a very entertaining match, especially the end of the first set! ^^ (much better quality then the wickmayer-schiavone match)

Yet another stellar grass win from Tammy! :worship:
