Actually Caro was almost lying down...

They've replayed it 3 times now...

She also had one in this match where she tripped and fell on her ass, then sprang back up, reached the return shot just in time and then won the point. Fun stuff.

Wozniak :tape: hit it straight to her :o

 pretty funny though. Shame Caro didn't win the point, would have been funny.

Was pretty funny because she'd completly given up, she was just sat there sulking and then the ball came right back toward her.

Good effort to get it back into court mind you.

Anna C once returned a ball from Henin on her knees. I thought it was Wimbledon 2006.

 Yeah that's how it looked to me. She was sort of half sitting and half lying there and looked like she was feeling sorry for herself when "Oh it's come to me - I suppose I'd better try and hit this one back".

Unlike the other time in the match earlier when she fell over and then amazingly managed to get up and run back and retrieve Alecs next shot, and eventually win the point.

Well I remember Venus falling mid-point vs. Hingis at the 2000 US Open and still managed to get the ball back...and win the point. The crowd went hysterical.

Caro continues to grow on me. She just seems to pull this kind of stuff a lot.

Kim was playing Schiavone (maybe Hantuchova) in 2005 and while returning a smash fell into an array of plants set up, and she still won. But I don't think she was actually sitting down.

Oh yes, the passing shot. :( He won the point and Federer didn't challenge, but the TV's instant replay in fact showed it to be wide.

When Kuznetsova beat Nicole Pratt at the US Open in 2004, she hit a volley from a seated position. She took a tumble moving forward for a dropshot and Pratt hit the ball right back at her. She lost the next couple of points, I think out of shock at winning from an unwinnable position.

Have an old Tennis magazine issue that shows three photo stills of Mima Jausovec in the early 80's doing this. She falls backward, finds her racquet quickly and with both hands and sitting on the ground, hits back the oncoming ball over the net.

Supposedly she hit a winner.
