Ridiculous. How many effin chances do you need? She was seriously about 1/20 on bp conversions. What a typical british choke.

I remember being surprised they gave Stoop a wildcard over Cavaday, but if you can't get through qualifying you don't deserve to be in the main draw, simple as.

Cavaday needs to work on her fitness. Well I haven't seen her lately but looking at her fitness from when she played Hingis in 2007 and when she played Venus in 2008, she didn't improve much in that department. You would think she would, she has the talent.

She has, when I saw her practicing in Birmingham last year, she was the only one who looked like some random off the street who just picked up a racket and decided to have a few swings. She was in far better shape when I saw her beat Julie Ditty last week, inconsistency is her problem far more than fitness.

well, it's not like Stoop would have gone through the qualies thoug, I must even say she would probably haven't got past the first round

Anyway, 2 wins in a slam is good, WD Naomi, now keep it up and get back in top 200 :bounce:

Yeah, apparently Naomi has been scarily good at times like in the 1r and up until 6-0 2-0 in her last match :tape:. She just needs to put it all together on a consistent basis, she hasnt played at this level for ages now, basically since the last GC season. When is the USO cutoff? I really do hope she can make it, shes only a few points off the top 250 now and a couple of good ITF showings could put her in the QD, definatly.

Oh I know, I guess I'm of the opinion that with the wildcards they should give it to someone who could actually win a match against a top 120 player, which Cavaday certainly can do. With Stoop, she'd probably be better off in qualies where she could maybe sneak a win and get a few points, but I guess they'd rather give her the $20k or whatever the 1st round loser money is to tie her over this year. They probably thought Naomi could qualify and get some additional points to help her out and then have a crack at someone in the first round. Oh well :(

Naomi  So many chances, so many close games and you just couldn't take them. Glad to see you on the up and improving this year, hopefully you'll be able to make up for all the time you missed last year
