Nice handshake Daniela. What a tool. :weirdo:

Only saw the last three games so I can't comment. Dinara just seemed to be placing serves well and playing good defense.

She attemped a driving volley and it landed on her side.

Dani. Fix that serve. It's such a puffball. First serve in the middle of the box with no pace, waiting to be crushed. Led a set and a break and couldn't close it out. Dinara gifted her the breka back in the third from 4-1 to 4-3. And then Dani went into UE mode. :o

Everyone chokes against Dinara :o but I have to concede...job well done, no.1, job well done.

Daniela was pissed off but she shouldn't have let this affect her and stayed focused (she DF after that at 3-4 in the 3rd and got broken).

What else is new, I love Dina, but she calls her coach way too often. I have and will always hate on-court coaching:o Players need to think on their own. Thankfully slams don't have on-court coaching.

She broke Dani a lot the last 2 sets

Just watch the 3rd set, but bar the 2 games to comeback from 1-4 to 3-4, Dinara played a bit better.

All good to have nice ground strokes Dani, but if you are mentally retarded it isn't going to get you far. No reason for why she should lost this match besides her head.

Congrats to Dinara, but her little mind games of getting towels from her chair in the middle of games and trying to stare down her opponent are pretty annoying. Have fun losing to Tammy next round:hearts:

Other than that is was a pretty good match. Some nice winners from both.:)

iPatty Did you watch. Dina almost hit her with the ball twice after a point was over:rolleyes:

I saw one and it wasn't even close to hitting her. Just Hantuchova up to her stupid antics as always. Taking an obscene amount of time between points, acting like her opponents are trying to kill her...no wonder she always looks so sour on the court. If she stopped acting like such a tennis princess and learned how to fight she wouldn't let things like that bother her and she could have probably had a decent career.

:inlove:

why is everybody on this tour such a mental midget

down a set and a break. safina brings her coach on court. everything changes. never in doubt.

Dinara vs Tammy should be fun.

Once they were in a rally I thought Daniela was playing fairly well, winning most of the longer points. Dinara's serve gave her so many free points, and Daniela's is so weak these days its so easily attacked. That was the main difference here. I was happy with the way Dani was striking the ball, lots of winners to the corners out of Dinara's reach. With a decent draw, Daniela should definitely win a few rounds in Wimbledon.

 :worship: at the the deathstare Daniela gave Dinara when she almost hit her with the ball. Highlight of the match for me. :D

The return on a first serve out in the first point at 4-3 was REALLY close to hit Daniela and she was right to be pissed of and complain to the umpire. That being said, she should have stayed in the match instead of collapsing.

You named one thing: taking time between points which is her style.

Overexaggerate much?

And wasn't it you who said how good of a tennis player it takes just to get a WTA ranking, but now reaching No.5 in the world, three titles, career mixed slam, etc. does not qualify as "decent" career?

What happened Dani after that first set?
She was hitting 2-3 times as many unforced errors to winners in the first set, so was Dinara, she just won the big points. I thought she played better in the other two, especially the second set where it was three errors in one game to give Dinara the decisive break.

I'm just tired of Hantuchova always being a sore loser. It probably comes down to the fact that she always comes up short in big matches and it's usually always something of her own doing whether it's a slew of unforced errors or a meaningless beef with her opponent (Ivanovic in AO another example).

Derek you know as well as I do my reasons for disliking Hantuchova and you know as well as I do why she hasn't had the career her crazy fans think she was capable of having.

I did see that point. Daniela missed the first serve long and Dinara hit a FH cross court return. Daniela then proceeded to attempt to stare her down (like Hantuchova is intimidating) and talked to the umpire from the baseline. Next, she double faulted.
