Someone said they might take qualies indoors. If so, bad for players. They need to be adjusting to grass.

In Queens players will play indoors. Probably the same here

Oh dear. Looks like it's going to rain all week.

They should play a tournament in Hull. We don't get much in the way of rain or sun, or any weather of any note.

A standard day is 'a little bit miserable'.

Lol that sounds delightful!

It sucks for the fans and the players, but nothing anyone can do! I just played a long match in the rain tho and it did me no harm :p

It's been absolutely p***ing it down in Cardiff. Presumably if the qualies are delayed, so will be the 1 and 2nd round. What about the main draw?

It's not the summer though. We had that last week.

To be fair that is quite rare. More likely is a bit of variety. A bit of rain, plenty of grey skies and the odd sunny period. Appreciate it all the more then!

This happens every year. All throughout the French Open it's sunny as anything in the UK and then as soon as the players arrive, *boom* starts raining. They should swap with Paris and have it a month earlier - no need for a roof then ;)

It was great weather for most of the Nottingham tournament last week. Is there a possibility that they will play indoors does anybody know? (has it happened in the past?) I went there today but it was cancelled until at least 5pm. If they do play indoors I hope spectators can watch because from what I read about ATP queens, matches may be played indoors and spectators will not be able to watch :(

They will definitely not be playing indoors today at Edgbaston (I asked Denise Parnell in the tournament office) although players are practising indoors. I suspect they will have to do so by tomorrow afternoon if the heavy rain continues as forecast for Birmingham.
Due to the awful weather forecast for Birmingham this weekend, I returned to London, where it clearly hadn't been raining for a while. Went down to Queens, where they had decided to play the mens event indoors, but weren't letting spectators in! At Birmingham if they do play indoors tomorrow, it should be possible to get in to watch (though I certainly won't be going back tomorrow, might watch some NCL tennis instead), but not from Monday onwards when there'll be a security man stopping people.
Nochokes, I remember they did used to have a $10k tournament in Hull, indoors. Saw quite a few players play for the first time there (2002: Jie Zheng, Zi Yan and Tian Sun, 2003: Galina Voskoboeva, A-L Groenefeld and Elke Clijsters, whilst Mel South won what may have been her first senior singles tite in 2006).

What's the surface available indoors? I think it's so unfair when a tournament ends up being played in a different surface than the one it's supposed to be played on.

Last saw them play indoors there on the qualifying Sunday back in 2002, so I can't remember if it was carpet or hard. I think the courts were fairly slow. Didn't the Stockholm WTA tour event final a couple of years ago have to be moved indoors?
Just seen the OOP for tomorrow (released at 1518 today) on the LTA site, all 15 qualifying matches to be played tomorrow, so play clearly cancelled for today!

Would they move the MD indoors if it was bad for the rest of the week? It seems Monday may be slightly drier for a period :P lol

I wouldn't think so. The main-draw players are looking for grass-court play, and probably won't have brought the right shoes to play indoors. In 2007, rain between Wednesday and Friday caused a terrible backlog (they had to play the last four rounds in the last two days), and in 1998, the tournament was abandoned at the semi-final stage.
