I am planning on visiting Israel this summer, to see the sights in the holy land.

Problem : I am visiting Damascus (Syria) before going to Tel Aviv, so I had decided to get a flight from Damascus to Amman (Jordan), then on a separate ticket, a flight from Amman to Tel Aviv.
So, my question is, will I be refused entry into Israel with a Syrian stamp on my passport? (a recent one at that).
I cannot see any conclusive answer to this on the internet/ travel forums etc.

I am well aware that visiting Syria is impossible, once having visited Israel, so I was hoping that I could do things the other way around and go to Tel Aviv via Amman. Jordan being the neutral territory.

Any advice on this would be great.
