I think Venus' first serve if she is going to hit it like against Monica and Amelie in the 116s and 122s then Serena will have problems returning=venus hold serve=serena loses.

Serena's angles and her heart will decide the matter. Her heart will have to be in it and her angles need to be working to pull Venus off the court. Venus does have the big serves but she also made tons of double faults and had to hit lots of second serves which Serena will feast on. anyways GO SERENA! I don't really care who wons but I have a slight preference for Serena. I like her game style better and she seems more genuine.

It's always about the serve with Venus. If she doesn't serve well it will go as it did at the French. If she does serve as well as she did against Seles the other day, it will depend on who plays the best under pressure at the end. That gives a slight edge to Venus.

But its always about Venus' serve...it comes and goes...but it usually goes bad during the daylight. I think she struggles with the sun on her toss a lot. Its a good thing for Venus this is a night match. I wouldn't want to predict this match, but I will confidently predict the serve stats will tell the tale.

I think it would be unfiar if Serena wins 3 gs and nothing for Venus. Venus' serve has fallen apart in all 3 matches vs Serena this year so hopefully she will be able to do something diff this time. And I wonder if Serena has a pink bodysuit or will she stay with the black one.

it won't be the 1st serve but the 2nd serve

as the saying goes "you're only as good as your 2nd serve"

Serena's 2nd is 10 times better than Venus, so Venus would have to get 60-70% 1st serves in to stand a chance

well that is what venus tried at London I think, to get a high 1st %in. I think venus made some bad points in the tiebreaker there and didnt she have a sore shoulder and now the blister. Venus is approaching Steffi Graf Injury Zone.

Venus wouldn't be able to have high percentage of first serve here because from the back of her mind she knows that Serena's the best returner of serve at the moment.

Venus would be at Serena's mercy in this match.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want Venus to win this. I am already prepared to be a nervous wreck throughout the match.

Go Venus! (but I still love you Serena)

I think the serve, as well as who can make the least UE's. Theres no point getting a good first serve in if your going to stuff up the easy short ball, like Venus has done a lot this tournament.

Unforced Errors will decide the match, who ever makes fewer wins

With the way Venus played Amelie yesterday, I would be suprised if she wins if she comes out like that. I have never seen someone blow so many opportunities to hold serve. Her mental game got her out of the jams with Amelie, and Chanda, but I think both Venus's game and mental state need to come together against Serena.

I wan't Venus to win so bad, but I have to be realistic about it. If she starts shaky on that serve and gives Serena momentum, she will lose easily in 2 sets. I don't understand how her forehand and serve can break down so easily considering it wasn't breaking down during her wins at Stanford, Acura, Pilot Pen. Hopefully we will see Venus raise her level to compete with Serena. If Serena wins that would be fine too, but I think since Vee hasnt won one in a while it would mean more to her.
