I would think so, at least the second set was fantastic.
Her serve was going well.
Her returns were FANTASTIC, so many times long and deep to Serena's feet.
Her movement was AMAZING, compared to what we have seen before. She was actually FAST today.
Her defense was so great. She got to many balls I didn't except her to reach and retrieved them deep.
And even her moral was good. That she believed in her chances at all was already great to notice. And she fought really well in the 2nd set.
I can't even blame her that she lost the last 2 games so fast. When you play your best tennis and reach 3 set-points, and then your opponent just serves them away, well, what else can you try ?
Although I really wanted Lindsay to win the second set, I'm very happy about her performance. The result was much better than I expected. I hope Lindsay isn't too disappointed about the loss. Instead she should realize that she was really able to compete with Serena and that she maybe is the winner next time.
