last year marion was defeated by Casey Dellacqua (:o) in the first round, this year perhaps she will go somewhat further :D I'd love to see another 1/8 final :D

May 20th, 2009, 04:18 AM
Go Marion!!!!!

May 20th, 2009, 09:54 AM
I hope for a 3rd round at least.

May 20th, 2009, 06:23 PM
Yeah, a third round is all i want. Anything after that is a big bonus. She better get a nice draw, but knowing her luck she'll get Sabine or Vinci or something 1st round :o

May 22nd, 2009, 08:32 AM
Draw will be out very shortly :bounce: Btw, she isn't playing Birmingham.

May 22nd, 2009, 11:09 AM
Parmentier first, then Mortia or Garbin. But Medina Garrigues is after that.

May 22nd, 2009, 11:11 AM
Thinking about it, an alright draw, she should make the 3rd round, and we should be happy with that. But the way Medina Garrigues is playing, Marion could beat her, but Razzano and Hantuchova are also there. Dementieva after for the 4th round.

May 22nd, 2009, 11:21 AM
I've seen Pauline play once; it was against Hingis a few years ago. I don't know what her clay game is like. Well, this is an alright draw.

May 22nd, 2009, 11:42 AM
Marion's full draw:

(13) Marion Bartoli vs. Pauline Parmentier
Tathiana Garbin vs. Ayumi Morita
Virginie Razzano vs. Daniela Hantuchova
Ekaterina Makarova vs. (18) Anabel Medina Garrigues

(30) Samantha Stosur vs. Francesca Schiavone
Yanina Wickmayer vs. Urszula Radwanska
Jelena Dokic vs. Karolina Sprem
Q vs. (4) Elena Dementieva

Hum, so so but not bad at all. Pauline has ended her losing streak but is still low on confidence. Marion should be able to prevail, she better targets her weak BH, especially since the rest of Pauline's game is quite good... She has also won a Tier IV on clay, so to answer the question, yeah she can play on clay! The 2nd round is looking difficult as well, now that Morita has a great tournament in Strasbourg. The thing is that it could have been worse .

May 22nd, 2009, 02:31 PM
Go Marion!:bounce:

May 22nd, 2009, 03:20 PM
i think its a good draw:) i expect her to reach the 3rd round at least, but AMG will be tough on clay

May 23rd, 2009, 12:43 PM
MW is right.
A 3rd round is where she should get to at least. But Medina will be very tough.

Marion said on TG ceathre yesterday on the Roland Garros 2009 Preview.
"Its my dream to win the French Open one day".

And after all the good results this year on clay I think she should do well here.

May 24th, 2009, 01:40 AM
Good luck! No repeat of last year's mess please.

May 24th, 2009, 07:11 AM
medina, isnt she hurt, or didnt she just pull outta a tourney because of injury or retire? i think she'll be fine and make it into the 3rd and make it to the fourth. i think even against dementieva, shes beaten her before. I'm EXTREMELY glad she doesnt have a williams sister in her portion or vera or amelie. good luck marion, your my one and only favorite. please make me happy for 2 WHOLE WEEKS.

May 24th, 2009, 07:01 PM
According to FO Radio, Marion is finishing the day off on Phillipe Chatrier tomorrow. Im very annoyed though, ill miss her and Jeremy tomorrow. :o

May 25th, 2009, 03:03 AM
^^ Hopefully :hearts: Never know what BBC will do though :o

I'm just remembering, it was this time 2 years ago I first fell for Marion during her match with Rezai. Good times :)

May 25th, 2009, 09:40 AM
Allez Marion!
I will certainly miss her match, it totally pisses me off! I haven't seen much of her on clay this season... With Amlie losing early, there's more pressure on Marion sadly. It won't help. Thanks God Pauline won't feel comfortable either.

May 25th, 2009, 04:48 PM
OMG BBC just changed to Suzanne Lenglen...Just as Roger finished.....I need a stream for PC :O

May 25th, 2009, 04:53 PM
Parmentier leads 4-3 and serve :s

May 25th, 2009, 04:59 PM
I need to see this :O

May 25th, 2009, 05:01 PM
Set lost 3-6

May 25th, 2009, 05:37 PM
1 se a piece. Shes looking more comfortable than she did in set 1.

May 25th, 2009, 06:47 PM
Nice win. I'm too worried about her next match.

May 25th, 2009, 07:46 PM
Nice win. I'm too worried about her next match.

Dont worry too much, Parmentier is a good clay player, and Marion will have a lot of confidence and relief after getting through her first match, like at the Aussie this year. She was playing very well towards the end. She should be able to beat Garbin or Morita.

May 25th, 2009, 07:50 PM
Good start Marion! I didn't see her match so I can't say much. All I know is that Baba expected a hard and ugly first round. I guess she is relieved to have overcome this step, now the real tournament can begin.

May 25th, 2009, 08:14 PM
I saw the end. She hit a big serve to win. Apparently, she hit 23 unforced errors in the 1st set.

May 25th, 2009, 10:28 PM
Good recovery from Marion after a horrible first set. I think she will improve with each match. Hopefully she is on Court Phillippe Chatrier again.

Marion was playing like a mess but I have to say it was parmentier who was causign most of the errors in the first set because she was getting the ball up so high it was impossible for marion to control it! some of the points marion was hitting down on the ball from over her head!

that said Parmentier is brain dead! She has this massive serve but just smashes it straight at marion...and she didn't really know how to set up her forehand either, the way Marion was playing Pauline could have really taken her apart had she kept drawing her out wide and using her forehand..thank god she didn't!

I'm gunning for a Morita 2r because she's just a crap version of Marion.

Back in 2005, I bought my mum a Louis Vuitton bag and gave my dad a gold pen. I love giving presents. Its much more fun than receiving them.

Elena Dementieva.

Roger Federer. He always says hi. Hes really friendly. I love him but I would get really nervous if I had to play with him.

May 26th, 2009, 03:07 PM
Which training exercise do you hate the most?
Right to left crosscourt! Man, it’s just horrible…

Her favourite player is Dementieva? :hearts: Has Marion said that before?

May 26th, 2009, 06:38 PM
why does she hate Anastasia Rodionova? anyone know the reason? i love that she loves elena, shes my 2nd favourite, i hope they play doubls someday, but thatll never happen

May 26th, 2009, 06:57 PM
As the question has been asked in French, the translation on the site rolandgarros.com is not good. She doesn't hate her.

The questions in French are :
- Prix Orange - the nicest player
- Prix Citron - the most disagreable player

May 26th, 2009, 07:23 PM
I don't think she's ever said it before, Dave. Btw, Marion will not be playing tomorrow.

May 26th, 2009, 11:37 PM
Marion is so passionate about football:lol:

May 27th, 2009, 01:19 PM
Thanks for sharing!
Mind if I put this on my blog?

May 27th, 2009, 02:00 PM
Virginie Razzano on Marion in her interview:

Q. Would you say that you help each other out?

VIRGINIE RAZZANO: Well, you know, the atmosphere is good. Marioncomplimented me in the cloak rooms. Itwas from the bottom of her heart. Ifound it so cute from her, so nice. Shesaid, You don't like Hantuchova at all, do you?

Hantuchova or anothergirl, no, I want to do my match. I wantto do my job as usual. It's true. I was so happy to win, and that's the way itis.

She congratulated me. I said congratulations, as well, for what shedid yesterday, even though it was against a French player. You know, we support each other, and, youknow, tennis is not an easy sport compared with other sports. It's quite a difficult sport, and we've seenthis at least for the women tournaments.

It's not always easy, not alwayspink. You have to look at the brightside of sides. If you get support fromthe other French girls, it's a good thing.

Awwwww :hearts:

May 27th, 2009, 02:21 PM
Virginie is always so nice, it's impossible not to like her.
Always good to read positive things about Marion! :hearts:

May 27th, 2009, 05:37 PM
Marion will play tomorrow morning 11:00 am on central court Philippe Chatrier :http://www.rolandgarros.com/fr_FR/scores/schedule/schedule10.html

May 27th, 2009, 06:10 PM
Good to see them sticking Marion on Chatrier again, shows that there isnt any ill feeling towards her, and she should be getting the court as top ranked frenchwoman anyway. But Marion and Jeremy on at the same time again. :sobbing: Ill have to keep an eye on both of them from the streaming.

May 28th, 2009, 11:50 AM
Clay season is finally over thanks god. FINALLY.

May 28th, 2009, 12:01 PM
Yeah as you said! Apart of a very convincing Stuttgart it was a nightmare! Now I hope she forgets about this and finds her form on grass where she can do very well. We are at an important point of the season, Marion has to react now, she can easily beat top 10 girls on grass but for that she needs confidence.
Allez courage!

May 28th, 2009, 12:05 PM
Tax just wasn't making silly errors like some players do e.g Venus. Many long rallies were played. Marion should of been more agressive off the second serve though. Too many errors and double faults. Hopefully she doesn't feel too bad. She was crying at the end  I want her to draw Tax at Wimbledon

Tax at Wimbledon would be lovely. Marion would blow her off the court!

i think we need to look to marion's interview she gave which you can find on roland garros website; she stress because its clay, its roland and its in france..ok that's fine, but i don't feel that she has lost her confidence because of the clay season, she has done a lot better than she did last year, and she has many more years to go to work on it. For marion i don't think every match is life or death.

May 28th, 2009, 04:39 PM
also, if you haven't watched her video on teh RG site after her match today i suggest that you do, because it's hilarious!

May 28th, 2009, 05:19 PM
I can't watch the video. I read in gm that she is clasless and doesn't give credit. Is this true?

May 28th, 2009, 07:22 PM
Marion is really priceless. She is not eating her words .
Indeed she makes a pretty good analysis here. I have faith for the grass court season, she plays well, serves well & is fit. Allez :)

May 28th, 2009, 08:13 PM

May 28th, 2009, 08:27 PM
Don't be too dissapointed about this. I'm excited about seeing her back on grass. It's a shame she isn't playing Birmingham. It's not a strong field. She could have gained some easy points.

May 28th, 2009, 10:00 PM
im upset. garbin always fucks me over. its like i knew she was gonna have a hard time. fuck this

May 28th, 2009, 10:01 PM
i love you marion, im just venting

On a side note,'Super M' gave me a hard time a while back for commenting on Dementieva's beauty,so I'm kind of pleased that our Queen Marion has revealed a high opinion of her...it's vindication of sorts:angel:

It's too bad that Marion has to play on her most hated surface in order to somehow win her home country's Slam event, but I'm hoping that she'd be content with a Wimbledon or USO title instead:)....She can take home a RG doubles title when she's older and winding down a tad:cool:

May 28th, 2009, 11:10 PM
Marion is a racist now apparently guys. Some Italian accused her of being racist towards Italians on the main boards.

yes i said that quote was taken out of context in that thread and now i'm done with GM. You should read the proper interview or listen to it in French, the translations are always changed.
