View Full Version : No controversy!

I'm not starting this thread to stir up controversy, but I do have some things to say.

I have been a member of this board for only a short time, but I have read through many posts on here over the past year or so and a reoccuring theme is always happening:

If one person starts a thread about their favorite player at least one person will post something negative on that thread.

Yes, my favorite players are #1 Davenport and #2 Capriati, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to get on a pro-Williams thread and post something negative.

The Williams are not my favorite players, so therefore I don't post on that thread. I'm not going to go on that thread and post something negative about them just because they beat my favorites. That is disrespectful. The Williams ladies are getting it done these days and that's the bottom line, but that is no reason to hate them. That just means my faves need to step up!

Of course this is just an example and of course I don't believe my one little thread will change anything on this board, BUT if a few people quit bashing the players that they don't like I think the atmosphere on this board could improve.

C'mon people...post nice things about those that you like and be rational in your posts, NOT BIASED!

Sorry I have rambled, but I've said what I need to and I feel better! :)

I haven't been here long either but I think the general rules are if you post in General Messages, "you're asking for it".

If you want no "counter-points" or negative feedback, you post in the Player's Fan Section (or whatever it's called). I never go there because the pep rally fan club thing seems a little lame.

"My fave is sooooo sweet and pretty and plays with the most style and grace and..."

It all depends on the thread, I generally try to stay away from threads that I think are going to get hateful. It also depends on the way people interpet what you say. Some people do say stupid things, but other times they are just stating their opinion and the fans of the player they are talking about gets offended, and decides to lash out.
