View Full Version : Tired Of Lies & Misleadings By USA Network? Send Them An Email, I Did!

Send it to tennis@usanetwork.com

I'm just so tired of the commentators just making up stuff and spreading it like the Gospel - so I wrote them a little note:

Firstly, as stated by Monica Seles in your USA broadcast center yesterday; please stop asking her about retirement. With that said, your announcers on at least 3 occassions have stated that this is 'probably Monica's last event as she is not playing any events this fall.' Ms Austin went on to say that Monica will just fade away. Well, check your facts. Monica is indeed playing fall events. She has entered the Swisscom Challenge - week of Oct 13th - Zurich, SUI. She also fully expects to play the Sanex Championships in Los Angeles the final week of October. I would appreciate your announcers having/knowing/being made aware of all the facts before they spread their misconceptions and speculation. If they don't know something to be completely true and accurate, why are they even saying anything about it?

Also pertaining to Amelie Mauresmo. It was said that she has never come from a set down this year. Please see US Open 2002 4th Round. Mauresmo d. Clijsters 4.6 6.3 7.5

Please hold yourself and your commentators to a higher standard. Some of us in the tennis community are well aware of the stats, event entrants, and scorelines of previous matches and do not appreciate wrong information being doled out like candy.

Thank you for reading this message.

I could do a better job than they do. They do not know anything!

I had to do it again...my God, they suck!

USA Network:

After Amelie d. Jennifer, your graphic indicated that this was Mauresmo's 2nd SF in 21 career Grand Slams. Check your stats:
1999 Australian Final (therefore, she was in/won a semi)
2002 Wimbledon
2002 US Open

Looks like 3 to me.
