View Full Version : Does Lindsay have the slightest chance against Serena ?

Right now I would be VERY surprised if Serena doesn't win this tournament. She plays so well that even Venus could lose badly.

So, does Lindsay have a chance ? First of all, she has to serve well, and consistently. Otherwise Serena will just run away with the lead.
And Lindsay has to believe in her chances. She should remember last year's match that she almost won.

Come on, Lindsay, and don't give up like against Venus recently. :)

Yes, Lindsay does have a chance.
A slight chance.
A very slight chance.
A very, very slight chance.

I guarantee the match will go two sets.

Lindsay will have to severly improve her game to beat Serena at this stage

Well Lindsay is gonna have to serve well, keep the ball deep and damn it, take advantage of short balls and second serves.

Still, Serena will have to watch it. Daniela was no slouch but Lindsay is definitely a heavier hitter.

Lindsay's movement is really slow , I can't see her running all over the court going for big points.

Serena is almost unbeatable.

I say Serena in 2 sets.:wavey:

Yes. That's exactly what she has.

#1. Lindsay better pray that she at least wins the first set because she'll get tired if it's 3.

#2. Serena must attack her serves and make Lindsay run. If Rena makes her run and is consistent then she'll win.

#3. Lindsay should begin to pray.:)

Actually anyone can win or lose on any given day, but I think Serena will beat Lindsay tomorrow.:) Go Serena!!

Serena will prevail in two sets.:)

Lindsay does not have the stamina to stay with Serena, she is dead meat, proved that to me with her match with Bovina. Bovina should have defeated Lindsay she just did not understand that making winners was not the goal but working Lindsay was!

When she has time to set up, Lindsay is a winner machine. Against Serena, she will find time to be a precious commodity,

I am most nervous about this match compared to all other of Serena's matches........

So yes, I definitely think Lindsay has a chance

I hope that Serena will win, but LD has defeated Serena on the same court that they will play on tomorrow. That has to mean something for LD.

the way Bovina tested Lindsay? she doesn't have a chance against Serena. it's V vs S in the finals again.

Lindsay looks good but i think Serena will prevail in two sets if she plays the way shes been playing, coz if she plays her game she'd win no matter whos on the other side.

the question has to be put differently!

Does Serena have the slightest chance against Lindsay?

Sep 4th, 2002, 04:21 PM
I would'nt mind of Lindsay loses this match. What I just want to see is Lindsay fighting until the end. Thats her only real problem, believing she could win. If she overcomes those mental issues, she really have a big big big chance.

60:40 in favor of Serena is my prediction but I know this could change with Lindsay's change of attitude.

Sure Lindsay has a chance..........If Serena falls and injures herself and has to retire.

Lindsay has a great chance!! Serena hasn't really been tested and Lindsay's the woman to test her!!!

Although Serena has a great record against Davenport, I don't underestimate Lindsay's determination/fire/will to win. After all, she ended Serena's reign as US Open Champion in 2000.

She's thoughtful and probably has a game plan against Serena. I don't think that Serena will roll over Davey in straight sets. Heck, Davey put a scare into Venus at the Pilot Pen before falling 7-5 6-0.

Serena "the killer" Williams in two sets. Also I agree with what Volcana said about "precious commodities"
