moni overpowered marti today but i got to thinking what if moni was a finesse player like juju and kimi. could she of still beaten marti? i don't know if she could of but it's more because i'm trying to picture moni as a finesse player.

martina today would have lost to anybody who is able to make points and doesn't make to many errors. martina only kept the ball in play, you can't expect to win that way!

marti isn't as big as moni and she's not as strong as moni so it was hard today to play her finesse game because moni was overpowering her. i think she just didn't have enough match practise because she beats moni most of the time.

Overpowering? No. Outpacing, yes. Outplaying? Yes. Monica hits big, but she's not beating Hingis because she hits harder. It's because she's aggressive. It's because she tries to win. Monica can't hit powerful killers on deep shots like Serena and Venus can.
And Monica has never and will never be a finesse player. A finesse player can play the net and play drop shots. Monica looks horrible at the net and you don't see many drop shots from her. Monicas play is to hit aggressive heavy groundstrokes and get a short ball back to kill with another aggressive shot. That's not finesse.

Overpowering? YES what match were you watching Monica totally outplayed and overpowered Martina there was nothing she could do!
And Monica hits brilliant drop shots did you see the Cho match?
Why ask if Monica was a finesse player?Shes not so who cares!

i know moni isn't a finesse player but i was just wondering if she was would moni be as good a finesse player as marti.
