How many out of MD is Marta Domachowska (if she is here ofc)? Thanks :)

I'm a bit dissapointed with the entry list, I thought that more Top50 players will play, that's propably the result of the fact that the tournament takes place after Rome&Madrid and just before RG. At least Ula won't need a WC this time ;)

I really think this isn't the real entry list for that tournament. I think it is the old list for the tournament that was suppoused to be held in July. That would explain tha lack of top 10 players.

Radwanska was the only top tene'er back in January and could participate in one International event back then and that was her choice.

I'm only glad you didn't call it the post of the year

I'm aware, that there's a really slim margin, it could happen on an error, but seriously - how would you explain such a weak draw?

I know there might be some late entries, but hey - this just looks ridiciulous at the moment. As they say - hope dies last, so I try to explain it [the entry list] to myself somehow...

I think Kerber will get one.

That's possible.

But I also think they might save one WC because there is a possiblity that a Top20 player who will lose early in Madrid might want to play here (especially seeing that the field is rather weak for the Premier tournament).

So, if I get you right, Maria counts as a "Top 10" WC, therefore the tourney has one "Top 10" WC (which will go to the next in if no "Top 10" player takes it) and one discretionary WC remaining. Is this correct? Thanks.

Are you saying that Marta became a direct in, and her wild card was transferred to Piter?

TBE (or Spiceboy or Jorn): have the withdrawals of Wozniacki and Liskicki become official yet? If Marta replaced one of them, who is replacing the other?

Answering my own question:

Marta is a direct in, and her wild card went to Piter.

Other WCs are Sharapova and Hantuchova, with one left to award.

The remaining WC, however, was the second "Top 10" WC (the first went to Maria). This would go to the next in, who may have been Julia Goerges, since she is now on the tourney list.

The tourney website (http://www.warsawopen.com.pl/eng/zaw_2009_tgs.php) now shows Klara Zakopalova has also been added to replace Sabine Lisicki. Caroline Wozniacki is still on the list, though it is reported above that she has said she will withdraw.

The tourney website list no longer includes Severine Bremond. If it was announced here that she withdrew, I missed it.

TBE (or Spiceboy or Jorn): Was Julia the next in?

With Raluca Olaru in Qualies, it seem Caroline or Lisicki had not Officialy withdrawn before the Q-Draw was done, so likely a LL will be in MD, but I don't know for sure.

The ES Commentator still say Caro is playing Warsaw, but she tell much wrong info :o
